The Tufts Journalism Society (TJS), a chapter of the Tufts University Alumni Association, offers opportunities to bring together alumni of the various Tufts student media groups and alumni currently in the media industry. Through panel discussions and networking opportunities, TJS helps alumni reconnect, further their careers and better understand different segments of the industry. In addition, w
e can provide one-on-one networking opportunities beyond formal activities as well as guidance to student leaders of the Tufts media organizations. This is a group for all Tufts alumni in the media industry to engage with each other, stay informed of upcoming Tufts activities, and celebrate the accomplishments of fellow alumni. The group is founded and administered by Tufts alumni. Members must provide verification that they are Tufts alumni by answering several security questions when joining the group. We ask all members to engage in discussion with integrity and consideration for others. Spirited, thoughtful discussion is fine. Insults, name calling, scolding, swearing, and rudeness are not allowed. We do not discriminate against any views, but reserve the right to delete posts that:
• Are defamatory or obscene, cause panic, use fighting or threatening words, or incite crime
• Are off topic or irrelevant to the subject under discussion
• Violate copyright
• Are spam or have a commercial purpose, are petition solicitations, political campaigning, or direct sales pitches
• Demean or harass another individual or institution
• Are articles shared without any context from the poster on its relevance to the Tufts community
• Have fundraising purpose (other than for Tufts University)
Users who criticize or harass other alumni in the group or the moderator, publicly or privately, and users whose posts are repeatedly removed may be banned from this group if necessary. This Facebook group is not an official Tufts University platform and is not monitored or administered by Tufts University.
