this is, what, my third time addressing this? but it’s being brought up again, and i do think it’s very important to address, so i am addressing it once more.
i would like to make this post to talk about something that i did that was very wrong. in march of last year, i made a post that was very inappropriate of me to make, and it wasn’t my place to make said post at all. the post was a positivity post directed towards black features. what i am about to say is not an attempt to justify myself or excuse the fact that i made the post, it is simply an explanation for my (poor) reasoning at the time. the reason why i made the post in the first place was not because i have some fe**sh for black features or some weird s**t like that, it was because i had a friend who was feeling insecure about their features, and i misguidedly thought that this was a good way to help anyone who may be feeling this way. i actually did have a few black friends & mutuals help me out with the post, and i was told that the post was okay, but that doesn’t excuse it one bit. just because one black person is okay with something, doesn’t mean every black person will be okay with it, and i 100% should’ve known better. i feel remorseful because i know that i have done something harmful. if you know me at all, one of the things i hate most in this world is when people are treated poorly for things that they can’t control, such as race, gender, or sexuality, and i am very ashamed to admit that i have perpetuated something as harmful and disgusting as racial fe**shization. while i cannot undo my actions, i can go forward and promise to listen and learn. fe**shization of black features is wrong, and even though that wasn’t my intention, it was the impact of my post, and for that, i am truly sorry. i apologize to everyone in the black community who was affected by my post, including those who were made uncomfortable or upset by the post. your feelings are justified, and it is okay to feel however you feel about me. feel free to unfollow, block, etc. i won’t be offended, and i understand completely. going forward, i promise to be more careful with the things i say.

my biggest pet peeve is when people, even people on my side, present one thing that an extremist of a specific viewpoint is saying, and then they act like everyone who has similar views believes that same exact thing. obviously, certain extremists need to be called out, and we can laugh at the dumb s**t that one extremist says, but it’s intellectually dishonest to act like every single person on the other side of any given argument believes whatever ridiculous thing one extremist is spouting.
example: if one anti-vaxxer is saying that vaccines can cause children to turn into lizards, while that point absolutely deserves ridicule, we shouldn’t take that one person and act like every single anti-vaxxer believes that. like i said, that would be extremely intellectually dishonest.

fun fact about me: i can read freakishly fast. in high school, i used to check out 1-2 library books each day, and i’d always finish them by the end of the day. i was also reading at a college level by the time i was 12.
