Deluge is an online literary and arts journal devoted to the wealth of creativity that arises from dreams – directly or indirectly – and from the deeply felt/experienced life. We present work that catches the breath, that resonates like the low hum of a bass cello. Work that dazzles slant or straight on, that brings us to epiphany, to a cliff’s edge or that rises through quiet presence. However ea

ch piece sings, we hope that it leaves you feeling the reverb long after each note finishes. Co-edited by Susan Marie Scavo and Karla Van Vliet

We are super thrilled to announce our latest! Issue 10.1 of deLuge Journal is here!

This issue has the theme of community and all the writing pieces are from a group of writers called The May Street Poets. And, bonus, all of the writings come from a singular prompt. Check it out! We include Maureen Thorson's poem "Attitude Goes a Long Way".

Hi all! deLuge Literary and Arts Journal [of which I co-edit with my sister Karla Van Vliet] is open for submissions for just 3 more weeks for our summer issue...

AND - we are open for FREE SUBMISSIONS!!!

Every year, we have a free submission period for those of us who can't afford all the little fees in the big world of getting our work out there. We painfully have to charge a little for submissions most of the year to pay for, well, processing submissions and all the little costs of running an online journal. But, we do like to have our free submissions time!

So, Submit! Submit!!

Welcome to deLuge Literary and Arts Journal Submissions Please Note: Ongoing rolling submissions will be accepted year-around with occasional month long breaks.  We only accept submissions in English. If you would like to submit a piece in another language, please include the original and a transla...

Hello all! I have decided to do [try again] a year-long Sealey Challenge where, instead of reading a book of poems a day for a month, I intend to read a book of poems a week. On week three and already forgetting to post, but here is my first book of the year - Kiki Petrosino's amazing book "Bright: A Memoir".

AND this inspired my co-editor of Deluge Journal, Karla Van Vliet and I to start a new feature at Deluge called Cloud Bursts. There we will post drenching reviews and other little essays on writing, asemics, dreams and creativity.

First Cloud Burst is a short review I wrote about Petrosino's amazing book. Check it out: https://www.delugejournal.com/cloud-burst.html
