Baby’s rescue becomes investigation plot in new WWII fiction
‘December Gold’ shows pursuit of riches, truth, and faith in a new novel by author Ron Mitchell
HAMILTON, Ohio – A baby is saved from sudden death by a young soldier in the midst of World War II during a beach landing in the Philippines. Readers can follow this epic story from pre-WWII to post-9/11 in this new historical fiction by auth

or Ron Mitchell, “December Gold” (published by WestBow Press).

“December Gold” paints the story of a college professor’s quests for gold, adventure, marriage integrity, renewed faith, and answers regarding his father’s involvement with a girl named Alaya during WWII. Based on a story told of Mitchell’s father saving a baby from the same dilemma, the author decided to write a fictional story about an infant named Alaya and her life following WWII. Within the pages of “December Gold,” Mitchell weaves a tale of a college professor seeking answers regarding his father’s seeming affair with a young Japanese girl after the discovery of a mysterious gold key. This key draws the interest of the FBI, CIA and even U.S. Presidents in the investigation of the professor’s father’s past. The investigation is not only about honor, but also about riches. Retracing his father’s footsteps – from his time in the war to the years up to and following his death – Professor Marclay begins a search which unveils not only his father’s involvement with a Japanese girl, but also a connection with two unlikely friends, a Japanese soldier and a renowned Filipino goldsmith, who each dedicated their lives to their Christian faith in the midst of a world war. An excerpt from “December Gold”:

“She’s…safe under the cross…the locket will…watch out for her…under the crossssss…my Alayaaaaaaa. With those fading words from his mouth to this young soldier Enrique’s existence faded from this world; only God knowing his name as he died. The startled soldier stood there and unashamedly shed a tear. The American had seen people die before, but this seemed so different and unnecessary.”

If you have read December Gold, would you consider writing a short review (hopefully positive, but honest) so others who have not read would consider it for future reading? Post on Facebook and on the December Gold Amazon page. I cannot thank you enough, as I make my final push towards the completion and release of Inseparable. May everyone have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. God's Blessings.
