Doing some research today and found this. Very interesting. Only works with a specific type of Sensorial Nerve hearing loss, but still a major breakthrough in science. But as always, the question is how this will affect the capital D Deaf Community. Time will tell.

Throwback Thursday. During Covid, Samantha wanted to learn how to make videos and teach people sign language. So instead of just sitting around the house, she and I tried our hand at making home videos that would help (it isn't as easy as it looks). This is her most popular video on YouTube. She has a few videos out there with phrases that she teaches. Now she thinks these original videos are so elementary, but people have commented that it was so helpful in learning things in context, and I don't think so knows her impact. All that to say, things that seem trivial to you, may be making a big impact, so if you are a person going through this deaf journey, don't underestimate your value to others!

Posting a throwback from 3 years ago. Samantha was asked to Sign a song for a PBS series for kids during covid. This is the video of the song they asked her to sign. She is older now but still has a passion for helping deaf kids feel included and share her language. I hope that never goes away.

When my kids were little people used to tell me they wouldn’t be able to live a “normal life” and that they will probably not succeed in a lot of areas. I never told them that and I never let them believe it. This can be a good life and a successful one. They can do anything- music, sports, theater, academics. Never limit them and never let them limit themselves. #DeafCan. #nolimits
