Pop-Up Pirate Radio 96.9 FM (Narrowcast license- 2km from the Melbourne VCA, podcasts available) Based out of a shipping container in Melbourne, Pop Up Pirate Radio airs on 96.9FM.

The broadcast content encompasses all things creative including - local designers, architects, photographers, poets, musicians and performers. Throughout the end of July we covered events scheduled as part of the 2011 State of Design Festival, listen to our archived podcasts to see what went down! The tower is designed by Adam Kalkin and the interior has been created by Interior Design students fr

om RMIT, with reclaimed materials from Pumphouse Design. The American artist and architect Adam Kalkin who inspired this project will be in Melbourne for the Mis-Design exhibition. He will be making use of the radio tower to broadcast Spiritual Tennis propaganda to compliment the Tennis Academy which will be installed into the Ian Potter Museum of Art. (coming in late August!)

Pop Up Pirate Radio has come to life thanks to The State of Design Festival, the Victorian College of the Arts, Mis-design exhibition, The Ian Potter Museum of Art, and volunteers from Swinburne, VCA and RMIT Universities. Supported by: The Victorian College of the Arts, The Ian Potter Museum of Art and Dulux Paint.
