A kids play room that caters for big and little ones. The Vj on the ceiling angles, add a little country to the super cool and beautiful oversized custom pendant, I lm so happy with how these turned out, although the electricians didn’t stop cursing me because of their sheer size, I knew they would be beautiful. Behind this shot is a custom built in cubby house. If I were a kid I would seriously loose my mind over an inbuilt cubby house !! I think I still do as a grown up!! And my favourite, little signature to add into the homes is inbuilt cubby houses!! The final piece to this room will be an old school air hockey table. The search has been long for this one and like most things, I want and see in my mind, I can’t find it, so I think it’s going to have to be a custom made.

Concrete pour days. I love this shot it’s like a blueprint of the floor plan, it give a real sense of the scale and enormity of work that was achieved at this site.. including a house removal, that was delicately pulled apart by hand to salvage the very old original hardwood Timbers. I kept the old ladder of which I’m yet to find a special way to incorporate it into this beauty.

Remember the saying “Greens and blues’s (and black) shall not do”?? If true, I think I broke every rule in creating this space. But rules are meant for breaking playing creative and the only tittle I like to worry about is the ones that have land or building in front of it so I guess that means if it feels right do it and the number add up do it.

Butlers pantry || Laundry. I used to often wonder why Brit’s put their washing machine in the kitchen… When redesigning this super small and pokie house, the aim was to make a very small house feel as bright and open as possible without sacrificing on having it all. The end result was a very large kitchen with butlers pantry / laundry with so much storage. Having walked out this space many times as it was coming to life I began to realise how right the Brit’s have it. The 2 places where in a home most people spend the majority of their time so from a functional and time efficiency perspective I love how you can multitask the cooking, cleaning up and washing within one zone. For me who likes to get as much out of ever second of life,I love it.

Any build is special, however when you get to sit back and look at a photo and realise just about everything in the shot minus the decorations you have custom designed yourself, manufactured in a different country, landed it into the country cleared it and help install it all… that feeling is the greatest in the world. Swipe to se the before. They say scars tell the stories of your life lived, so I will forever remember this kitchen and the day I tried to remove the old stone from the island bench. It cut my wrist and left me with a battle scar clean across my wrist. Who needs tattoos when you are collecting construction scars.

This kids rumpus room is not quite complete, but needed to be a space where teenagers and littles can both hang out and have fun. Each house I do I love trying to incorporate a kids cubby into the rumpus rooms. Big couches for the teenagers, to sit and game on and the cubby for the littles to loose themselves in their imaginations. I’m still looking for the perfect vintage sports wall art and timber air hockey table for this room to feel completed, so stay tuned.

Tactile tiles. I love tiles and probably spend the most amount of time trying to get it right. I also find them the hardest to put together, because for me they have to look good but feel good. The tiles you shower on should feel great under the feet, I like to run my hands over the tiles and know that they feel as good as they look. And when budget allow I love nothing more than floor to ceiling bathroom tiles.

Ilalso a lover of taps and efficiency in a kitchen hence why the Agars Project I choose to put a pit tap, large spout tap and ultra sonic filtered sink and tap in the butlers, meaning you don’t have to walk from one end of the kitchen to another to grab water drop a dish or rinse something. I recently saw a beautiful kitchen with double spouts it look really beautiful in its own right and can’t wait to see how I can try that one house.

Fun fact I have a little obsession, within my building obsession, with having as much as I can custom made. People say I like doing things the hard way but for me, I love the learning that comes from the school of life and figuring it out yourself and getting exactly what you want.
