Andrew Hill's Blue Note classic!
The pianist’s 1968 album 'Andrew!!!', recorded in a torrent of creativity, is the latest entry in Blue Note Records’ Tone Poet series.
The album, which features vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, was recorded on 25 June 1964.
This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket.

Fleetwood Mac star’s love of Louie!
Saluting drummer Mick Fleetwood, who was born on this day in 1947 in Redruth, Cornwall.
Fleetwood was a huge fan of Louie Bellson, saying once; "Louie Bellson had totally mastered and made a career out of African beats put to jazz. I loved all of that tom-tom playing! He was a real master, who had a very effective style and legacy. His tom-tom work was so melodic. I've tried to pay attention to that in the way I play, just trying to make it musical."

Brilliant jazz recording made at 3am!
Tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins arrived on his first trip to the West Coast in 1957.
On 7 March that year, Rollins arrived at the Contemporary studio in LA at 3 a.m. to record for Lester Koenig’s label, with Ray Brown on bass, Barney Kessel on guitar and Shelly Manne on drums. All the musicians were heavily committed to club and studio appearances day and evening, hence the early morning recording call.
