Posted this question on Reddit and it got some buzz so wanted to hear the opinions of Insta: Expensive games that you regret buying?
Personally, I love big box campaign-like games so Iâm always looking for one to scratch my itch. I did a bunch of research and was very drawn to Too Many Bones so I went to my local game store and lo and behold, they had it on sale! Too Many Bones is definitely not a cheap game so I held off on pulling the trigger for months. But the second I saw it was on sale, it was an opportunity I had to take advantage of. Since then, I took it home and got it to the table maybe twice. I found the rules just tough to work through even with the walkthrough portion it has. After I finally started to get the hang off it, I think it lost itsâ appeal, just wasnât as attractive as before. I donât know if Iâm missing something because a ton of people seem to really enjoy the game. Does it get better the further you get? I donât know what it is but Iâm not sure Iâll give it another try. What am I missing and what games are out there that others regret buying so we all donât make the same mistake because of hype?
