Hey, you haven't heard from me in a while. How's it going?

I've been pretty good, all things considered. My family has gotten through the COVID spring and summer, and we've used it to make some memories in ways we wouldn't have had time for. And we got a puppy! We're in the tough part of potty training right now, but he's too adorable not to love to pieces.

As for Polished, it's very much still alive and active. I've been in situations that have reminded me how important flexibility, spontaneity, quick thinking, commitment, and COMPASSION are in our industry. It's a labor of love 100%, and I know I speak for a lot of my fellow industry pros when I say we miss normal, but we love the moments we get to see instead.

I'm sharing a photo of a GORGEOUS event venue in Wausau that I didn't even know existed before June. I learned of it two days before I went there and helped a couple throw one incredible party! The bride was grateful and the party was amazing... well, I'll let her tell the story by way of the sweet review she left.

"I liked the idea of having a female dj just because one rarely sees a female dj, at least I really have not. Once I spoke with Amy she was so cool, so friendly, was helpful in so many ways just by asking questions I never thought about. Three days before our wedding we found out from our venue that they had to cancel due to covid and unfortunately not following the CDC health guidelines. We had to scramble to come up with a new plan, not have a wedding, have a 25 person wedding or see if we could find a new venue in our hometown two hours from where we currently live. We were lucky enough to find a new venue up across the street from my childhood home but that meant Amy would have to drive two hours out of town as well and last minute. When I called, she was so understanding, looked at her schedule and said she would figure something out and that she did. She said she would make the trip come up that day and stay the night while then having to drive further the next day to another wedding. She was absolutely AWESOME in so many ways, keeping me informed of the schedule, keeping everyone on schedule, she was running around. To be honest, she was like a wedding planner and DJ at the same time!! I gave her what music we were looking for during the reception and she nailed it!! I was nervous it would take guests a while to hit the dance floor. Nope....she started the tunes and the dance floor was full of people. I had so many people during the wedding and the days after say how awesome she was, where did I find her?, etc. I can't say enough good things. She was absolutely fantastic! I would highly, highly recommend!! :)"
