young skin, tiny pink lips and teeth
My vision of you is unclear until I start to watch you closer.
Your face like the white hot sun,
You bounce up and down in your shoes that close with velcro
like you will crash into everything
Your presence has come like a flood
newly sprouted carpets of grass are here
the land of your life and mine
You, seed breaking through my fertile heart
You are my son, hot, spinning, moving, screeching for my attention all of the minutes of all of my day.
When I come to a hault to see your sprouting, to see you closer
My fertile heart is still, too
As you spin gleefully on the planet of mother
I see that to hold you is to be the mother
I find me holding your spin, your heat, your screech
You break through my heart
You break through my heart
The land of your life and mine
