2 Timothy 2:15-16 KJV
[15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [16] But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
This is one of my favorite scriptures. Not just about studying God's word, but gaining wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. I want to point out verse 16, because it's important also. We need to start 1 John 4:1 (try every spirit by the Spirit), because things are being said now to draw people in, and it does not line up with the word of God. If you don't know the word for yourself, you will be drawn in to. It can't just be on Sunday and Wednesday. You need to be in the word every single day. David said Psalm 119:11 KJV
[11] Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee. The day is almost here where we won't have access to the Bible like we do now.
