You are a strong and capable woman, but y'all still need a man, you don't just need a man, you need to respect him and understand him and adore men in general. Even though they don't always do things you like or understand.
Society is always trying to keep us divided, because it's easier to conquer and control people who are overworked and alone.
Often in society we are divided by many things, race, religion, social status, and political views. But the biggest divide is between men and women - religions and groups can come together and create communities, but when men and women dislike each other we are all alone even in our communities.
I am selective in the media I consume these days but before this I remember going through a phase of watching Zombie films and TV series. Strangely, zombie movies provide the perfect setting to explain how the man and woman dynamic can work well, even in today's world.
Whenever danger is quickly approaching often a man will start shouting directions and the women will obey without a second thought, this usually leads to the survival of the group - you might not win everything and will have losses but it's a goal to keep it to a minimum. If a woman argues or does something different, she's not working in the plan and things start to go wrong. Arguing is wasting precious time. Doing your own thing, as a man or woman is not going to always save you. Maybe you were told to run to the other side because they've seen a zombie coming on this side but you think you know better or deserve a detailed explanation and understanding before you are willing to run 'on command'. You run out the nearest door, because understandably you're scared but you end up running straight into the zombies. Maybe you don't make it, maybe you're saved, but you can't understand why he's annoyed now.
Yes, in zombie movies women are strong and capable, they shoot zombies and endure tough times. Yes, women go out and do their own thing, follow their own ideas and desires, but they also have a respect for men that in today's world we don't have. I don't think you could survive a zombie apocalypse for even a week or two without gaining massive respect for the men.
We don't live in an apocalyptic world but we are still out here trying to survive, we hunt for wages, and gather food and supplies, we live in fancy caves we have built and we still face dangers and tough times.
Men protect us from zombies, they protect us from hard and disgusting work, they protect us from dangers everyday in ways you don't see. They protect us from bears. They protect us because they love us, but they've grown tired of trying to provide and protect us to be told 'no, you're bad. I'll do it myself'
