Milan Food Tour 🇮🇹 🍝
My family & I have been going on eatingeurope tours for years and sometimes even choose our mini breaks based on if they are running a tour there, so when we had the opportunity to go on their new Milan tour we were extremely excited!
The tour is based in the area of Navigli which is a vibey and buzzing neighbourhood full of energy and a charming haven close to the centre of the city.
We love the tours because you find hidden gems that you would never think to eat at whilst also learning interesting and cultural facts about the area.
They operate in multiple cities and I genuinely think it’s the perfect experience when you’re on a trip - you can get 30% off the Milan tours before May 1st

The Floating Terrarium 🪴
When I heard there was a boat with over 180 houseplants inside it I knew I had to get myself inside and have a look.
I was introduced to Mia by a mutual friend and was fascinated by her unique story of how she came to create the floating terrarium.
Mia entered an interior design competition with airbnb where she had to draw the plans to create a unique guest stay. As a lover of botanicals & the water she had the idea of a floating guesthouse filled with an abundance of plants.
After winning the competition airbnb helped fund some of the project but Mia took it upon herself to do almost all of the hard work. She had the boat built as an empty shell and drew plans to convert the space and make every detail exactly as she dreamed of.
I was lucky enough to spend the night there and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t somewhat envious of the space, natural light & central heating.
If you ever want a unique stay in London then I can definitely recommend booking to stay here 🌱

Take a look inside this Widebeam Boat 👀
I love showing all types of boats that live on the waterways and although I love the charm and rustic feel of my Narrowboat built in the early 90’s, I also appreciate there are other option for people that want to live on the water in more luxury.
My good friends at lakelandleisuremarinas always let me come down for a nosey around some of their stock boats and this one caught my eyes so I thought I’d do another little tour
(I also wanted to try out my new microphones and have another go at a presenting style video)

Humans Of The Waterways ✨
Welcome to my series where I take you inside the life of people that have chosen to live full time on their boat.
Episode 7: @theboatfitco 🔨
This is my first time featuring a Widebeam on this series as I really want to show all the kinds of boats that are on the waterways. I had never been inside a Widebeam that someone was actually living on before and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t envious of how much space their was!
Despite how luxurious Calums boat is, the most impressive part is that he is responsible for completely fitting out the entire interior using his own design & carpentry skills that are all self taught!
I’m always in awe when someone turns their hobby into a career and after the successful renovation of his own home, Calum set up his business the Boat Fit Co where him and his team create and fit out beautiful bespoke interiors on a range of boats and renovation projects.
It was a pleasure to meet such down to earth, hardworking and talented people and they’ve invited me back to see the spa boat when it’s finished - who wants to see a tour of that one? 👀

3 lessons I learnt from losing my father as a teenager ✨
I lost my dad when when I was 17 and despite being an extremely turbulent and traumatic experience, I have the belief system that we can learn something from all of the experiences we have in life.
I’ve been reflecting a lot about this recently and wanted to share some insights of things I think I learnt through grieving my dad
1. Grieving isn’t something you can achieve.
We use it as a verb as if it’s something that will finish doing, however you will always have that grief within you, but the way it shows up and the way you feel about it will change over time
2. Ask more questions
I try not to live with regrets but there are some questions I would of loved to ask my Dad before he died so I could understand him better, but rather than dwell, I’ve made it a goal to ask close people around me lots of questions.
3. It’s okay to see the positives
It feels strange to say that in some way I am grateful for the experience of losing my dad, however I am truly grateful for all the lessons it taught me, the way it build my resilience and the strength it gave me to carry on and pursue certain goals in my life
Thank you for reading this ☺️

Spend my 31st birthday with me 🎂
Usually I surround myself with friends and family on my birthday but this year decided to have a much slower paced celebration with Lauren & Shanti that essentially revolves around eating all day long.
Lauren went above and beyond to treat me and I’m feeling very grateful and ready to embrace the year ahead.
I was reflecting on changes I want to make this year and as my calendar and work get busier I want to remain slow and grounded during my tasks so that’s the goal!
We also had the most epic dinner at glassorchid.beeston . Such an experimental menu and the best and most creative food I’ve eaten in a very long time!

Do you believe in signs? ✨
I feel like every single day recently life is giving me subliminal signs and messages and it’s quite an exciting but overwhelming experience.
When this lady opposite me got off the phone, I asked if she was okay and she said yes and apologised for crying to which I said please don’t apologise.
We spoke for about 30 minutes and she explained she was 75 years old (she looked much younger) and had contracted throat cancer despite never smoking a cigarette and being generally healthy.
I asked how it felt to be given the all clear and she said now she wants to focus on doing things that make her truly happy. Ironically they involved more relaxation, less worrying about work, and spending time with loved ones.
I found it insightful that the thought of being faced with losing her life put into perspective things that were already within her reach prior to contracting cancer.
I guess my lesson from this is not to wait to do the things that will make you feel happier right now

A Sunday on my Narrowboat home 👨🍳
I am very lucky that my wife does so much for me so when she wakes up and before she’s even opened her eyes asks if I’d make a Sunday roast, the answer was always going to be yes ☺️
Cooking in a small space has its challenges but it was an afternoon well spent; cooking is like meditation for me and paired with a glass of red made it a wonderful Sunday evening 🍷
