Help us finally Highlight and Showcase positive people, uplifting community organizations, insightful cultural institutions, and economically empowering business supportive news in our area. If you want to shine a light on progressive things taking place in our area volunteer to help us on the Southeast Queens Scoop.

We are looking for writers, podcast and videocast influencers passionate about making a difference in our community by giving voice and exposer to those people and organizations making a difference in our community. While billionaires buy media to attack affirmative action, DEI, Black History, Black business grants and financing, and also marginalize us from progressive politics we're a voice to keep them from using the media to Blackout the Black community.

Did you know there are over 2.6 Black businesses in the US. Over 90% don't have employees. A part of this economic disparity is the lack of access to capital. Less than 2% of Black businesses get venture capital or angel investing. Black women get less than 1/2 of 1% of venture capital or angel investing. Today there are only 8 Black businesses on all the stock exchanges and only one on the NY Stock Exchange out of over 6,000 companies.

It has been highly reported in the news and social media more recently that Blacks and people of color healthcare outcomes aren't as good as others in mainstream society. Outcomes aren't as good even when Blacks and people of color have good incomes.

Part of the problem is Blacks and people of color aren't included as much in clinical trials and other medical research. A new Black-owned company Divergent CRO, looks to change this unfortunate state of affairs by making medical research available in a more diverse and equitable way.

Reflections On Resurrection. Truth be told I was feeling some kinda way on Easter also the day Resurrection Sunday has come to be celebrated.

I've been going thru a lot lately with personal, health, and issues dealing with the social agencies bureaucracies. Then I realized my 3 main news blog sites were nearing a milestone.

I reflected on a talk I had with my daughter about shutting down one of our news blogs about 1/2 a year ago. It was only averaging 25 visits a day on this blog after I came out a year with a lot of time in the hospitals and getting surgeries.

My daughter and I decided we weren't going to give up and give it another try. Fast forward today the site is getting 30,000 to 55,000 views a month.

On Resurrection Sunday we got resurrected! We reached over 2 million views collectively on our 3 main sites.

Thank God and our friends and family on social media. Without you we wouldn't be able to spring new life into our community news efforts. DM or comment if you'd like to know how to boost your business online.
