While Dr. Jordan is checking out Otis and Bridget, I got a chance to get Henry out of his stall and let him graze on some nice green grass. If possible, he looks skinnier in person than he does in these pictures and his hooves definitely need some attention from Ryan but he is very sweet and has such kind eyes. 💕💕 the good news is that he seems pretty steady on his feet and is walking pretty well. Can’t wait to have him home with us. Pampering skinny old horses is my jam. 🤗💕

They are both really sweet. Dr Longoria will examine her and determine if she can surgically repair the fistula or if we need to send her to MSU. I sent her videos of the “problem area” and she said she would like to be able to help her here. She instructed me to start antibiotics and try to get the infection under control. I think she feels the same way I do, it’s not lost on us that the week of India’s passing another mare graces us with her presence who has an issue very similar to India’s upon arrival. I would expect nothing less than for her to put us in the path of someone like her. A favorite poem of mine states: “when you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know, and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds, miss me, but let me go”.

It was a legend.

Appearing in a few rare inscriptions and ancient texts, the city of Thonis Heracleion was hidden away for thousands of years, submerged deep under the sea.

The ruins and artifacts made from granite and diorite are remarkably preserved, and give a glimpse into what was, 2300 years ago, one of the great port cities of the world.

The granite ruins and artifacts are remarkably well preserved. Among the underwater ruins were 64 ships, 700 anchors, a treasure trove of gold coins, 16-foot-tall statues, and, most notably, the remains of a massive temple to Amun-Gereb, supreme god of the ancient Egyptians.

The city was likely criss-crossed with a network of canals—a kind of ancient Egyptian Venice.

Over 2,000 years ago, Thonis Heracleion was undoubtedly one of the greatest port cities of the world.

Bo is doing much better this morning. He was feeling pretty bad yesterday. We were very concerned and doing checks throughout the night. I will do a video later today on the symptoms he had and etc. We will be monitoring him closely. This heat did not help I am sure. He was not feeling well and running a fever and then it is hot as, well you know. So, another hot one today and just want to be sure he does not spike a fever again. We will be giving him some meds to help with that. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!!! Y’all are the best! We appreciate all of you!❤️

The sanctuary is closed until further notice. This morning, at 4 AM. I woke up and fed Jamie and he ate like the happy little boy that he is. I went back out at 7:30 to feed him again and he had passed away in his sleep. We are currently headed to Desert Pines with Jamie so we can have a necropsy then and with Angel to make sure that everything is OK with her. We are not sure what happened, but please respect our need for quiet today. this is an extremely hard blow that I am having a very hard time with.

Funny I drove all day with that license plate and I m so lucky I didn’t get pulled over. I put it on for the photo session and forgot to switch it back to my California plates.

What were people thinking of me? 😆

Anyways I took the Sienna up into the Sierra National Forest and it was fun driving through dirt and gravel trails. Definitely will to plan for a weekend camp trip soon.

Our sweet Bo had a reaction to his vaccines today. This was a first for us. He was fine midday then by early evening was not. He had spiked a fever along with other symptoms. This 15-year-old girl lived in the Inca empire and was sacrificed 500 years ago as an offering to the gods.
She is preserved this well because she was frozen during sleep and kept in a dry cold condition at more than 6000 meters above sea level all this time. No other treatment was necessary.
Found in 1999 near the top of the Llullaillaco volcano, in northwestern Argentina, she was an archaeological revolution for being one of the best preserved mummies, since there was even blood in her body and her internal organs remained.
