❤️‍🔥A WOMAN'S PLACE IS IN THE STRUGGLE❤️‍🔥

Join GABRIELA USA, GABRIELA Philippines and IWA organizations: African National Women's Organization and RESIST US Led War Seattle as we commemorate International Women's Month and discuss how militarism impacts women in the U.S. and abroad.

Last year the U.S. govt approved of a bill that "authorizes a record $886 billion in annual military spending and policies" - funds that could be used to provide services and programs for the people amidst the economic crisis. Organizations on the ground are exposing the truth of the state and why its important for women to organize militantly for their basic needs. Join in on the conversation this Saturday March 30th - RSVP with the link below.

When: Saturday March 30th, 4:30PM PST / 7:30PM EST
RSVP: tinyurl.com/gabriela-iwa-330
Who: Open to the public! We encourage local watch parties to discuss local issues and how women are taking action.

We’re so excited to announce our 2024 Keynote Speaker for our 8th Annual Fly Pinays Leadership Summit, Carolyn Sideco, Founder of CoachingKapwa Sports Consultants.

Her relationship with sports helps her connect to herself, her community, and the broader world. With over 20 years’ experience as an accredited kinesiologist, physical educator, certified athletic administrator, Carolyn uses sports culture to deepen self development. She thinks of ethnic studies with sports in mind. She contemplates social and racial justice with sports in mind. She examines all sports relationships through a decolonizing lens of an immigrant settler. Carolyn also uses decolonizing practices to unknot her relationship to all levels of sports, distilling the essence and values that sports convey for fun and community contribution.

Sampaguita Press unequivocally stands with Palestine. We state our support and solidarity on this day of Global Strike, and every day of this hellish time.

We do not look away from these painful and important testimonials being shared from the ground. We listen to the voices of Palestinians and the Palestinian diaspora. We hold Palestinian art in our hearts, we educate ourselves, we discuss with those wanting to be in productive discussion with us. We attend gatherings of protest. We give our time, labor, political voice, and money to helping Palestine.
We take this moment to share some important accounts. This list is not exhaustive, and if you know of and would like to share more accounts in aid of Palestine, please add them in the comments.

We urge you, our loving community, to please follow, support, give and do what you can.

We do this despite, and because of, the fact that we are located in the west and so have inherited this proximity to, and burden of, empire. We grieve and listen to the rage and screaming of Palestinian poets and artists, and echo the same screaming in our hearts. We take it upon ourselves to throw what we have against the gears of the single largest colonizing state of our modern world.
We mourn the loss: of civilians, of the sick and healing, of the children who would have been our future. We mourn the deaths of Palestinian and Israeli innocents. At the same time, we understand the vast imbalance of power at play. We rage at the colonizers who are responsible for this loss of life.

We stand with our kasamas to demand an end to this genocide, and to call for the freedom, the peace, and the healing of the Palestinian people who suffer now and have suffered all this past century.
