In the shadows beyond our perceived reality stands Metropolis, the primordial cradle of humanity. Sprawling across its 7,777 hills, this eternal necropolis reaches endlessly into the void, its twisted spires and labyrinthine streets forming a dark reflection of every city that has ever been or will be. Here, in this realm of perpetual twilight, the boundaries between worlds grow thin, and the creatures of nightmare slip through the cracks to walk among us in the Illusion we call Elysium.

This sourcebook unveils the terrible majesty of the Eternal City, where the machinery of the Demiurge's control still grinds on in the darkness. Ancient beyond measure, Metropolis has witnessed the rise and fall of countless civilizations, each leaving behind their own marks of glory and decay. Through these pages, Gamemasters will find the tools needed to draw their players into this realm of shadow and revelation, whether through tragic circumstance or desperate intent.

Within the city's endless expanse lie wonders and horrors beyond mortal comprehension. The Citadels of the Archons pierce the darkened sky, their facades bearing witness to forgotten wars. The bottomless Abyss yawns where the Demiurge's throne once stood, while the Sea of Blight laps at shores of broken stone. Reality twists in the zones of Transfiguration, blood flows eternal on the fields of the Last Battle, and the City of the Dead holds secrets in its maze-like depths. In the distance, the Machine City clicks and whirs with mechanical horrors that have long outlived their creators.

From the shadows of these monuments to power emerge four new factions, their influence reaching from Metropolis into the heart of Elysium itself. These organizations move in the spaces between greater powers, offering players the chance to affect change through intrigue and action on a scale more intimate than the cosmic games of Archons and Death Angels. The factions are: The Sword of Hêlēl, The Red Pendulum, The Hidden Kingdom and The Nephilim.

We present both rules and narrative frameworks for journeying through this fallen landscape, designed not as mere geographical exploration but as a descent into horror and revelation. Hidden among the ruins are pockets of survivors, strange beasts that defy categorization, fallen gods who remember better days, and relics of unimaginable power. Here, players might uncover fragments of their own divine heritage—though such awakening often leads to madness or annihilation.

The appendices delve deeper into the mysteries of the angelic choirs and provide tools for creating the entranced ones—those lost souls who have found their own bitter existence among the ruins of divinity.

This vision of Metropolis comes alive through the collaboration of diverse voices in horror gaming. Torsten Gatu, the author of Deep Waters, is one of the main writers. He has been joined by M.Martial, the author of Downfall, James Vail who created the haunted TTRPG Xas Irkalla, Jason Fryer who penned Beyond Darkness and Madness and the Atrocity Exhibition, Matthew Dawkins who is known for It Started and Ended With Screams as well as The Summit and an array of products for World of Darkness and now latest Curseborn. Jacqueline Bryk, the author of And The Rockets Red Glare, La Cena and our trusted Editor.
