Just made our reservations for the first night of Sizzle Dining at Sunshine Seafood Cafe and Wine Bar on Captiva! Erin Clarke and I are taking a little work staycation at Jensen's On The Gulf and hitting up all the Captiva and Sanibel Sizzle restaurants!!

If you want to join in the fun we are going to Tutti Pazzi on the 6th, R C Otters Island Eats on the 7th, and Cantina Captiva for lunch on the 8th!

Hope to see a few of you helping our island neighbors after the hurricane they are still struggling and could really use our support!

P.S. We also have our first Boca Grande restaurant Keylime Bistro Boca Grande if you really want to enjoy a great day trip check them out!!

This is why Sizzle Dining is so important for our community.

In May 2024, the Current Situation Index was in contraction territory for the eighth month in a row due to weak sales and low customer traffic, as reported by the National Restaurant Association (NRA).

The NRA's Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) shows that the restaurant industry has been struggling over the past year. Issues such as inflation, consumers having less disposable income, and rising labor costs have made it difficult for restaurant operators to run their businesses profitably.

The restaurant industry has faced major challenges since the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite overcoming many difficulties, operators are now beginning to fully understand the significant changes in the market since March 2020.

Hurdles include inflation, consumers with less disposable income and rising labor costs.
