Back in the late 1900's.... Chick Music came about on one "blurrier-than-bigfoot” morning, when Alien Ant Farm was a local band in southern California and the "LA music Awards" called via landline, to ask, "what genre best describes your music?" Oh boy... Hmmm....

And like every band, that goes into this long winded fanciful tapestry of descriptive and elusive sub genres, attempting to succinctly classify , ‘their music'…. I too had one arm in the lab coat about to get the pie charts and calculator out... But then in a lazy lil moment of clarity, thought, fugdat.. "Chick Music. Call us chick music." Our music’s Always And Forever been about girls anyway. And I was pretty hungover.. No time for that!! 🤢
Oh, we didn't win. boo.

That next year we put out our self released record/Compact Disc, "Greatest Hits" (a compilation of then current demo recordings done w Jim Wirt at 4th street recording in Santa Monica) released in 1999.

With no real label behind us, we decided to release it under the faux "Chick Music" label. Made a cute lil logo w our buddy, Dave Hopper n that was that. The following year, it was nominated for an "LA Music Award" in the independent rock record of the year category, or something like that.. Genre? Chick Music... 🐣🎶 YAY!! we won💅
