Pamela's World Pamela Reviews: Taking my love of adventure to the next level, I will be reviewing books, music, foods, places, and more. Www.pamelareviews.wordpress.com

Pamelastitch.com is an issue based 'radiozine' that aims to revolutionize the way that Africa, the continent is viewed. What is a Radiozine you wonder? This is an online magazine with an audio press and play of prerecorded interviews, thoughts and written articles. This concept has been used with recognized and critically acclaimed media sites like NPR. The vision and mission of pamelastitch.com i

s to be the authentic voice of Africans in the Diasporas and continent. Using, interviews with musicians, authors, entrepreneurs, personalities from different walks of life, we hope to inspire the 'African' community to greatness. We also have the secondary aim of using this form of media to talk about our issues and our views on life as Africans in the Diasporas. Our primary audience are Africans in the diaspora which includes, first and second generation Africans as well as our African American brothers and sisters. Our secondary audience are Africans on the continent. We have also gone beyond that and interviewed those from outside this audience group who are creating awareness of an issue affecting the continent. We have kept with this goal in mind as each interview brings us closer to our aim. I will like to end by saying:

Welcome! Pamela Stitch

Our Story

Pamelastitch.com was started in response to the backward ideas that many have about Africa. The idea was to change people’s perspective on Africa and Africans, while also encouraging Africans in the Diaspora to not lose that aspect of what makes them different. To meet that objective, prerecorded audio interviews, thoughts and editorial write ups were utilized. It was a fun and necessary project that ran for more than 7 years and provided an opportunity to create something that we could all be proud of, monthly.

The team was made up of volunteers who provided their time and their voices to create something beautiful. I will forever be grateful to them. In retrospect, I really do not know how I was fortunate enough to hold on to this project for so long, I think it was a mixture of tenacity, obsession and a strong need to change a perspective. Looking back at the type of people that passed through the site, and what they’ve gone ahead to achieve, I do not regret the sleepless nights, the lack of a normal weekend/weekday (working full time, going to school, was working on a digital radio station (2 , at one point)), the lack of financial compensation of any sort (all monies holding everything together was coming from my pocket), nor all the unnecessary drama. It was fun while it lasted.

I, no longer reside in New York and at this point, I am still seeking to continue on this project, but in a different direction. For that reason, I’ve downgraded from an e-magazine to a blogsite, less pursuing of interviews and more focus on written editorials, more reviews which will include reviews of services/products, my current town, books, food and my current obsession – youtube foodvideos. Basically, the site will be changed to a huge review blog.
