Last night I saw Raul Malo and The Mavericks! Opening for Dwight Yoakam! What a perfect night for live music at a venue that was my first time seeing any concerts at. This was a dream show of mine to see two of my favorite artists on the same stage on same night. Raul recently made an announcement being diagnosed with Cancer. Malo made this announcement on his Instagram account that his health took a turn when a routine physical turned into a cancer diagnosis. According to the singer, he has “two cancerous spots” located in his intestines. Raul stated that some shows might be cancelled due to treatments but would continue on as much as possible. Raul sounded fantastic despite all that has taken place with his health. You can't hold a good man down! The man is courageous to say the least. The hour long show kept fans singing and dancing though his set. Raul did show some weight loss but that is expected, and he didn't look bad, but we all want him to lose on his terms. I met Raul a couple years ago and he is as down to earth as they come. I really admire him. if you have a chance to catch his show I highly recommend it! Here is a clip from last night finale. So saddened and shocked to hear the news of friend Charles Colin formally of Train. A few times a did some work for him when building up after his departure from Train. He was really a nice guy and gentleman to me. Im reading texts to me thanking me for my photos and videos of him. A text back when he said he had something to really to important to talk to me about. He had ongoing projects and was like Wow Charles wants to talk to me. Ill miss you! Another surprise! Tony Kanal at CRUEL WORLD FESTIVAL 2024! Playing with DREAMCAR! Crazy energy playing Bass that you can hear and see it! Tony recently was at Coachella with his former band No Doubt. Made friends with Tony awhile back at a gig at The Rose and recognized him backstage. Super nice guy!
