Sometimes, when your drums just aren’t sitting in the mix quite right, you gotta just retrack them. Thankful for a space I can just knock em out real quick with some help from engineering a session last minute. Worth the work

New amp rack, who dis? Used some leftover plywood to build a custom shelf/rack for my amps to match my Sidecar, complete with a 3U rack to house power and a soon-to-be patch bay for mixing & matching amps & cabs. Yes, I’m the old man who still plays/mics real amps, someone’s gotta keep it going, but stay off my lawn.

Sometimes it’s for tracking drums, piano & guitar amps. And sometimes it’s a guest room for family, getting ready for the newest addition to the fam.

Picked up some new gear and some brand brand new cymbals from . Got the inaugural stick marks on em and they sounded great under some warm ribbon mics. Loved getting back to making some noise down here and making music with again, it’s been too long.

Been a little quiet lately, but mostly cuz of lots of life changes and quietly working in the background. Few months ago had the honor of tracking drums for @slogtunes and his upcoming stuff. It was a vibe, little Glynn Johns mic setup and just good tones. Big shoutout to @itsjakenielsen for helping engineer. Go check out his new single “Murdersong” wherever job listen to music and stay tuned for his full album coming soon!

It’s a little out of tune, but this piano is all about the vibe, especially with this new felt trick. I might have to find another piano just so I can always keep this one as a felt piano. $10 trick.

Studio work has been slow the last couple years, been busy being a dad. But I heard our pal @wesschlag was in need of some drums for his new project, I jumped at it. Fancy & big drums are fun, but sometimes I just really want it to sound like the real thing. So fun to work on this project, getting the right feel, touch and sounds. What you’re hearing is just the mics and a touch of compression, and it sounds like you’re in the room with the drums. I genuinely got so excited to do some tracking again, and excited for more projects coming up. Stay tuned friends.
