Talent. Excitement. Awards....

Wow--7 years and counting! In 2012 the Friends of the SPCO put together this exciting yearly competition for pre-college musicians. The goal was, and still is, to encourage groups of musicians to form chamber music ensembles to perform and compete for prizes and the chance to play at the Ordway Concert Hall. The competition has grown and evolved and last year, in addition to Senior Classical and Junior Classical categories, we added a Creative category, which featured the first ever jazz quintet in the history of the competition.

We’ve made some creative changes of our own. This year there are only 2 rounds: a Video round and a Final round. There is a $50 entry fee per ensemble and prizes will total $3,500. Both Finals and Awards will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2019. This exciting event is free and open to the public, so be sure to join us to compete or simply to enjoy the Superstars of tomorrow at Sundin Hall, Hamline University, Saint Paul, MN. Visit spco-ycmc.org for more details and entry information.
