Citizen's Investigation into War Crimes in Libya & Syria (CIWCL) CIWCL: About Us

The Citizen’s Investigation into War Crimes in Libya (CIWCL) is a small, informal collective of ordinary but talented people. Just be real.

Informal research collective - Adam Larson, Petri Krohn, others - affiliated:
http://ciwclibya.org: http://libyancivilwar.blogspot.com: https://www.facebook.com/hands.off.libya
http://acloserlookonsyria.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Main_ Hailing from several nations, the CIWCL's members have come together to investigate events of the civil war in Libya, the lead-up to it, and the aftermath of it. We use pu

blicly available sources, gathered and compared, with an emphasis on primary evidence. Physical evidence (via photographs and video) is taken as that, and witnesses claiming to have seen things as, well… claims, which should be double-checked against other claims and against the physical evidence. This crucial aspect of our approach in large part explains the radically different findings from those reached previously by Human Rights organizations, world governments, and the mass media. The CIWCL’s members are driven to examine the clues partly out of a natural bias against accepting the mainstream narrative of the war. This bias is frequently supported, upon investigation, by signs that our suspicions were valid. Considering the overwhelming contrary bias to dibelieve the Libyan government of its day and credit each rebel accusation, the CIWCL provides unusual and thorough – and thus useful - insights, whether "the world" wants them or not. CICWL is also now looking into war crimes in Syria. http://ciwclibya.org:/syria.html

Others have expressed interest in signing, joining, or helping, or are activelty helping already, but don’t wish to be listed as formal signatories at the moment. A big list hasn't been a priority yet, but we anticipate some growth in time. Those willing to make known their support for the work of the CIWCL can submit a "signature" like those above. You can offer a bit less or more, as you're comfortable with. A link should be relevant to any relevant expertise that adds weight to your signature. Yes, that includes if you run an auto-body shop. Names can be initials, locations vague. Signatures can be submitted to the address immediately below. Contact us

Lawsuits and Pogroms: Protecting Israel's Genocide on US College Campuses
UCLA protest camp - why some Jews were blocked - when Jews attack. Some shortcuts but no destinations blocked - not even the library. So a racist ruling gives Zionist Jews special veto rights over campus protests.

Gaza Genocide: Who Ordered the Water Wells Blown Up?
We saw one on video, but there were rep. over 30 water wells damaged in 10 days. Israel admits the one (Canada Well), investigating, no comment on the rest. Considered in some detail in my first blog post in some time.

Pawns to Plow Over: How Netanyahu is Sacrificing the Last Israeli Hostages. Important story I just posted: was the final ceasefire offer based on a demand Hamas could not possibly meet? As I explain,
there were probably AT MOST 28 surviving hostages that fit the bill to release (women, children if any, men over 50 or sick). Netanyahu likely knew that as he demanded 40, then 33, and then - when Hamas wasn't quite able to do even that - it was on to attack , likely dooming the last few "pawns" in his historic "chess game." Oh, and the ones that weren't still alive ... Israel's genocidal violence killed most or all of them, PERHAPS all on accident.

A while back I published "Words Without Truth: How the New York Times Helped Netanyahu Weaponize Sexual Violence Allegations Against the People of Gaza"
https://libyancivilwar.blogspot.com/2024/01/words-without-truth-how-new-york-times.html
It's not my best writing, but good work refuting the Times article "proving" Hamas committed mass r**e on October 7, which supposedly gives Israel the right to commit their genocide in Gaza. There are of course some graphic descriptions of sexual violence that, FWIW, almost surely never occurred (and I explain why), and some semi-graphic images. For reference, the article was "Screams Without Words’: How Hamas Weaponized Sexual Violence on Oct. 7" by Jeffrey Gettleman, Anat Schwartz and Adam Sella, published December 28. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/28/world/middleeast/oct-7-attacks-hamas-israel-sexual-violence.html

This late notice here comes with some notes: since my debunk article (and others that people actually noticed), we've learned that report co-author Anat Schwartz served in the Israeli military's intelligence service ...
https://twitter.com/zei_squirrel/status/1761740292015767736
.. likes the idea of turning Gaza into a "slaughterhouse," and probably saw her work as furthering that agenda. ...
https://twitter.com/zei_squirrel/status/1761249450998022442
.. She was consciously seeking to craft propaganda to "establish a narrative that Hamas is ISIS."
https://twitter.com/DrSakriKaia/status/1761901694999486769

It also seems that co-author Adam Sella is her nephew (or her husband's nephew anyway).
https://twitter.com/A1926561073207/status/1761260740747444637

Schwarz and Sella seem to be on the same mission and seem to be the real writers of the piece, with accomplished journalist Jeffrey Gettleman somehow attached, as if to cover their propaganda.

My article shows how the journalists led the family of Gal Abdush to believe she was r**ed, before citing them as evidence for that.
We've learned that Schwartz and Sella also obtained video of her body by assuring the videographer "how important it is to Israeli hasbara [propaganda]."
https://twitter.com/MaxBlumenthal/status/1761895465325334539

The New York Times is reportedly investigating Schwarz and severing ties with her, seeming to ignore their own role in platforming her.
https://twitter.com/ryangrim/status/1761914188505436637

The article remains up and widely influential, along with other Times articles penned by Schwarz.
