If you have never heard Dr. Manuel Scott --OMG!! Powerful doesn't begin to describe it. He was our closeout speaker at this year's Fort Bend ISD leadership summit. Dr. Scott was one of the original "Freedom Writers" as portrayed in the movie by the same name. His testimony shows two things:
1) that no kid should ever be dismissed as someone with a hopeless future
2) we should always be ready and willing to speak life into someone, especially children --and most especially children with little or no support in their lives
It's 80 and Gorgeous, Only 1 Thing To Do
So, it's 80 degrees in February. I know it's not for everybody. And Heaven only knows what it says about #ClimateChange. But when I can get out on my bike and ride through the woods without having to wear 4 layers, it makes me smile! 😄
Day Brightener! 😀🌞
One of the lovelier things I've see. While running errands on a sunny Saturday afternoon. He plays beautifully! And I respect the hustle! 🎼🎻🎶🎵😃

What is this stuff? And how do I drive in it? It’s all over my car, knocking off my well-accumulated dirt and everything! 😆 Happy Friday from Sugar Land, everybody ‼️

My Christmas was BUSY with a ton of running around shopping (one day I drove all over Houston making 12 different stops looking for gifts and stuff 😑). I wrapped presents and took care of a long list of chores to prepare for a family feast for the first time post pandemic. Hosting required my hubby and me to clean and spruce up the house which NEEDED it badly. You know how it is when company is coming. All of it was a LOT. 😆 But there were many Blessings in the busyness. We had such a fun time with our big crazy family. Relatives showed up that we had not seen since before COVID. All the food I cooked turned out great and my famous homemade yeast rolls were the best batch ever this year! Our house was filled with joy and light and laughter. But one of the best moments of the season was on Christmas Eve when I took a moment alone and walked my block to light the beautiful luminares that our HOA sets out every year. It was so peaceful and refreshing to do that in the cold night air. And seeing the luminares line our streets is truly one of my favorite things. If like me, your Christmas was filled with lotsa work and preps, I hope it was also filled with Beauty, Peace, Love and Joy -and at least a moment of quiet, relaxing reflection. 🤗
Lots of years working weekends in news, then long days and hours working for HISD caused me to always miss my neighborhood’s annual outdoor breakfast!! Finally, after all these years, I attended for the first time!! 😁 (Can I get an amen for work-life balance.) It was a lovely outing. And it’s always good to get to know your neighbors better. 🏡
Did it! Bike MS: Texas MS 150 Definitely qualify for a participation trophy. 😆🏆🚴🏾♀️ Came in toward the back of the pack. But finishing 180 miles was EVERYTHING!
My hubby caught this quick shot of me as I went by on the Kyle Field track, then on the jumbo tron.
Thanks EVERYONE for all the encouragement and support. It means a lot to me. And even more to all those who are living with MS! GOD Bless you! 🤗
