I’m still in awe about our REBOOT last Sunday! Our goal was to observe Stress Awareness Month by rejuvenating our mind and body through various yoga and wellness practices.
Akil Taffe took us through an energizing all-level yoga sequence to show how movement and motion is like lotion for your muscles and joints. Not only is yoga good for stretching your body, but it’s also great for silencing your mind to allow for spiritual alignment.

Angela Vines challenged us to self-assess. Self-assessment can look like meditation, journaling, and simply taking a break. She also provided two tips: (1) Journaling: write in your journal everyday, but only read it every 3-6 months. Going back to read your journal after a few months allows you to see your accomplishments, things you may still need to improve on, and to keep track of your progress.
(2) Grounding exercises: Practicing grounding helps to maintain stress and anxiety through 5 senses. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can smell, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can touch, and 1 thing you can taste. In any order.

Maria Copeland introduced us to the history of using herbs for mental and physical health, and gave insight on how holistic methods and natural compounds can help reduce stress, such as Limonene, fruits/veggies, Cannabis strains, and essential oils.
