SMME's undergo Risk Management training

Ethekwini Municipalitys' Business Support had a risk management training for SMME's at Umnini Thusong, Umgababa on the 13th October. The training targeted local small business owners to educate them on understanding, identifying, documenting, and mitigating risk in business. Small business owners varying from fast food, online trading, building and construction attended the event.

Neli Ngcobo from Business Support highlighted the importance of identifying risks in business and cautioned against failure, which said "could result in the downfall of what would've been a succeful business". She added that more trainings will be conducted in future on financial literacy and Spaza shop empowerment.

SMME owners are encouraged to keep a lookout for the said trainings.

📣Annual Thusong Week at Umnini Thusong

This week from 13-17 September 2021, Umnini Thusong centre will be celebrating Thusong week. The five day programme will include:

Monday- March against gender based violence.
Tuesday- Open day. To share information and exhibit all services provided by the centre.
Wednesday- Youth programme. The youth will be encouraged to apply to tertiary institutions using CAO, applying for NSFAS and assistance with online applications.
Thursday- Motor cade for voter education.
Friday- Closing event graced by the presence of the deputy minister in the presidency.
