Our school year ends, but it's never too late to appreciate the people behind the success of the film "Boarding House".

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Richard Dearo and the entire cast and crew of Boarding House for their outstanding success at the iBayaw Film Festival 2024! Winning not one, but five major awards is a testament to the immense talent, dedication, and hard work that went into this remarkable film.

The Ibayaw Film Festival 2024 is an inter-senior high school short film competition organized by the Schools Division of Bayawan City to develop the culture of storytelling through film. It exposes aspiring filmmakers to a wider network of film industry leaders and storytellers in local stories in Bayawan. This activity fosters artistry and creativity applying various competencies in Creative Non-Fiction and Media Information Literacy subjects.

SiHAG Film Competition 2024

To encourage and develop the culture of storytelling through film. It exposes aspiring filmmakers to a wider network of film industry leaders and storytellers in local stories in Bayawan. The film festival fosters artistry and creativity through storytelling and local narratives.

Guidelines:
1. The festival is open to all Creative Non-Fiction (CNF) students and Media Information Literacy (MIL) student-filmmakers enrolled in Bayawan National High School Senior High School.
2. Films must have been produced during the first semester of the school year 2023 – 2024.
3. Films should be between 5 – 15 minutes in length.
4. Films submitted shouldn’t be a previous entry of SiHAG Film Festival.
5. The filmmakers are relatively FREE to choose any subject for their films. However, it is encouraged to show restraint when it comes to portraying explicit sexuality or violence. Storylines that denigrate religion, race, body type, physical handicap or sexual orientations are frowned upon.
6. No film is allowed to advocate murder and torture, racism, pe******ia, misogyny, or homophobia- unless done in an ironic mode, or done to render these issues in serious and provocative light meant to provide a better understanding of such issues but without the intention of glorifying them.
7. The entries may use English or Cebuano, but all are encouraged to use the latter. Subtitles are encouraged to be depicted on screening. All entries must have English subtitles for foreign viewers.
8. All music- including the songs and score- must be original. The use of prerecorded and copyrighted materials is prohibited unless a license agreement has been obtained.
9. Each entry shall provide a digital art as their film poster.
10. All films must have their members and representatives to participate in the screening of film.

How to Vote?

3. Harsh comments and reactions are highly discouraged.
Notes: The reactions and engagement from each of these posters shall determine the recipient of the MIL socmed award 2024
