Though I had originally thought I would have to go to Idaho to find mineral hot springs, a hotel employee in Whitefish clued me in about Hot Springs, Montana. 🙌🏻

This town was a trip, let me tell you. The population is 603, and I think that might be counting the deer that roam the streets. The locals at one of two restaurants in town gave me tips about which hot spring to visit... because apparently, they all have a different “vibe” (one that they mentioned sounded like bathing suits were optional and use of substances was typical). 😬

I ended up at Big Medicine Hot Springs, and it was absolutely perfect! This place was funky and awesome, complete with hilarious misspelled signs. Be sure to visit this little hidden gem if you find yourself anywhere close to this town! 🥰

Since I didn’t have cell service at Newspaper Rock, I relied on my atlas as I was attempting to continue on towards Monument Valley. I got turned around, but I had the most wonderfully unexpected detour - driving along Indian Creek Scenic Byway and ending up in Canyonlands National Park! 🚘

Some of my favorite parts of this trip were driving and figuring things out as I went. The scenery was simply amazing, and I was so struck by how drastically it changed along the way. 😮

I’m thoroughly convinced that everyone would benefit greatly from solo road-tripping. It gets you out of your comfort zone, gets you in tune with yourself, builds confidence, and creates memories that are uniquely yours. 🙌🏻

As I was leaving Monticello and heading towards Zion National Park, I made sure that I added Newspaper Rock to my route. I was intrigued as I had read that it was one of the largest known collections of Native American petroglyphs. 😮

This place did NOT disappoint! It is said that some of the 650 etchings date back thousands of years to the Archaic period, and I loved being able to get so close to examine them. 🤓

Although it was August and therefore quite hot when I visited Arches, I thoroughly enjoyed driving through the park. As I passed an ambulance and ranger vehicles along the road, my decision to skip a solo hike was confirmed! 🥵

The next day, I was able to get a different view of the park AND combat the heat as I went skydiving for the first time ever! The park is something to behold, and I would love to go back for a visit when the weather is more agreeable! ♥️

Ok, folks, I need some suggestions!

I’m planning a trip to see some family in a few weeks, but I want to add some fun stuff in on the way there and the way back! 🥾🚣🏻‍♀️

Looking for suggestions for scenic drives (I avoid interstates whenever possible), small towns, and unique places to stay! ❤️

First map shows the “loop”… second map shows an example of a route I’m thinking of taking (anyone ever been to Russell Cave??). ☺️

Here’s a list of neat accommodations… it will be hard to figure out what to choose!! 💥

Stylish, quirky, unique, and inspiring! I cannot even begin to describe my feelings upon exploring this unique place at !

I got a sense that I just wanted to sit down for a cup of coffee with the owner to get to know him. I absolutely loved everything about this place!

Especially memorable aspects of my stay were climbing up into the treehouse and sitting down to have coffee with my fellow guests the next morning - who even gave me travel recommendations!

I originally recorded and shared videos from my solo road trip last summer so friends and family could keep up with my adventures as I was traveling. Also, my mom watches entirely too much #20/20 and , so I knew that seeing my daily stories would calm her fears. 😉
The strangest thing happened as I was out there finding myself though: other people started finding me too!

I’ve decided to share some of my favorite stays, sights and delights along my 12,000 mile journey mainly in hopes that you will be inspired to explore courageously on your own! ♥️

Stay tuned as videos will be released over the next several weeks. Up first, the South!
