Things look a different for us these days. We are in the midst of a huge “head down and work” push. So there is a lot less adventuring, sailing, repairing, or things worthy of capturing.

But Brady has a job on the water and his sunrise captures make me swoon! They are so peaceful.

Well, that is life these days! For those of you still sticking with us, THANK YOU 💛! We love reading your comments and messages!We also appreciate you being around even though we have been very quiet.

I photographed a regatta a few weeks ago! That was cool! Brady raced in it! He was crew for some friends and they came in 2nd overall (in their category)! So that is even more cool!!

I was photographing a different set of races, so I didn’t get to actually see him race.

Happy anniversary to us 💛 6 year!

This is our most recent photo together snapped last weekend!

I sure do love him! He is gone all day today so we will celebrate another time, but yesterday afternoon we sat in the cockpit, soaking up the beautiful weather, and just talked about the things we have done together. The adventures. The crazy things we never would have expected to do. The highlights of the last 6 years. It was peaceful and beautiful and a fun trip down memory lane!

He says it feels like it has only been 3 years. I feel like it is has short and long - how is it already 6 years and yet, how is it only 6 years? I’m so excited about the years to come!

So, happy 6 years and happy Earth day, my love! 💛🌍✨

A little sunset photo from a cold, January walk!

For those of you that follow us, we are still around! We have been feeling a bit exhausted by social media lately. If you are reading this, thank you for sticking with us, even we haven’t been posting!

Life these days is a lot more work and a lot less play, so there hasn’t been much to share! While we strive to keep our social media real we also doubt you want to see loads of pictures of us sitting behind computers or serving food 🤷🏽‍♀️

Continuing with life updates…this winter, on the boat, has been much easier on us than last year and we are thankful for that!

Hopefully, come late spring or summer time we will have a bit more to share!

Happy Thanksgiving, to everyone!! Being thankful doesn’t have to pertain to one nationality or one day! So let’s all be more thankful!

Galley cooking…tiny kitchen cooking…we only have one hob & a countertop oven…this makes for adventurous cooking manoeuvres to make it all work! Any tiny living folk know what I’m talking about!

We are thankful for each other, our friends & family, friends inviting us to their family gathering, our space heater, my microwaveable hot pad (from aunt Lori), fresh herbs, cosy houseplants, a floating home (another boat sank in the marina a few days ago), & for the opportunity to BE thankful!

I’m really excited about the fresh herbs - boat growing goals, in the future! (these are store bought)

We crewed on a 51’ Dufour, this past weekend, for a back-to-back, two day race to and from Cape Charles!

Brady was one of the jib sheets & I (Carlie) was weight/photographer/videographer!

WE GOT THE OLD TRANSMISSION REMOVED!! Here is the video of us finally getting that big step accomplished!

Don’t be confused, we still have loads of work ahead of us but this was a big step forward! For example, we have removed the old one, however, we still have a lot to do before we can install the new one.

On Saturday, we got the old transmission out!! 🎉

We still have a lot of work to do (probably a month) but this feels like a huge accomplishment!

New video is live now! Sparks un the engine bay AND we let water flow into our boat! The water coming in was so nice on purpose!

We still haven’t removed the transmission because, of course, we now need a specific wrench to reach a couple bolts!

The face of seriously regretting “transmission hat”

When it arrived I thought it looked hilarious and that we had received the wrong part! 😂 Clearly, I never looked at our current one! So I thought it would be funny to “wear” it because it looks like a hat!

Yea…that thing is heavier than Brady has made it look! And he wasn’t around to help me get out of my regretted idea! 😂

This was over a year ago now. A super calm, tranquil night, watching one of the greatest sunsets I have ever seen. It was I credibly vibrant and seemed to stay that way for hours!

The most glamorous side of boat life! Boat maintenance (upkeep, big stuff, small stuff, replacements, repairs, etc) probably makes up half of it.

What are you up to on this Thursday afternoon? Brady is working on de-rusting our engine…prepping things for the eventual transmission replacement!

Engines are not our strongest boat knowledge spot…

We had a whirlwind, one day in DC! It was the hottest day, yet, and we had to pick just one thing because of our limited time!

We went to the Natural History Museum! I did a lot of thinking about The Night at the Museum & I was really happy to see them talking about climate change and pollution and how those things are changing Earth and the animals that live here, or used to live here!

We explored the Jamestown settlement museum, which has replicas of the settlement Fort, I formation on the Powhatan tribe, the English settlers, and the Angolan people!

There were also replicas of the three ships - Godspeed, Discovery, and Susan Constant. These ships were re-created to the best of their abilities based on the tonnage and cargo capacity (known things), and by looking at other voyaging ships from that time period.

Also, these boats can actually sail. Which we thought was pretty cool, considering we live on a sailboat and are now sailors ourselves!
