We're grateful for the incredible people who helped bring our new film, MIRASOL, Looking at the Sun, to life. For a peek behind the film, we want to highlight the unimaginably kind and brilliant Ian McLeod from Cleod9. Ian crafted the cello track for the film, which adds such depth to the film. Ian creates scores for some of the biggest brands out there, and it's hard to believe he'd contribute to a nonprofit film project like ours—Thank you, Ian!

Across the West and locally, our water resources are being used faster than nature can replenish them, even in years not plagued by drought and record temperatures.

In addition, the United States is losing 4.3 acres of farmland per minute.😳 Farmers and agricultural communities understand all too well that, the daily loss of productive farmlands to growing municipalities compounds the challenges facing this and future generations of farmers and rural communities as they fight to feed their families and our country.

Fortunately, there is hope. And you’re part of it. 🙌

“Water is our number one natural resource issue right now.

It is an issue facing all of us in Colorado, especially in Southern Colorado, and as we are dealing with these limited water supplies and water scarcity, we find it just so important to make sure we are seeking solutions that make sure we keep farmers, farming.

We hope after people see this film they’re inspired and they’re inspired to act to help protect this land and this water.” - Rebecca Jewett, President and CEO of Palmer Land Conservancy

Thank you, KKTV 11 News, for highlighting our new film MIRASOL, Looking at the Sun, and the importance of conserving water and land in southern Colorado.

As people across the globe come together to celebrate Earth Day, we applaud those who work and steward the land day in and day out—especially the next generation of land lovers. 👏👏

Recently, the Pueblo Chieftain featured Jace Martellaro, who is a next-generation farmer and film subject in our groundbreaking film, MIRASOL, Looking at the Sun.

Jace chose to participate in the documentary “because it really touched me how hard it is to keep a hold of farmland...There are just a handful of us who still have the passion for it, and it would really suck to see the small farms go away.

The Martellaro and Williams families are among the farming icons on the Mesa east of Pueblo, but what will happen to their farms in the future?
