The Blue Campaign is a national public awareness campaign spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to educate the public, law enforcement, and other industry partners to recognize the indicators of human trafficking and how to appropriately respond to possible cases. Hidden Gem Short Film with Attorney General Steve Marshall Open
The award-winning short film, Hidden Gem, is based on two different stories inspired by actual events and filmed in Alabama. One is of travelers who stop at a gas station/convenience store and are confronted with the reality of sex trafficking, but don’t know what that looks like. They must quickly decide the best way to help save someone who does not appear to desire freedom – or does she? A high school girl met a handsome young man at a party who lavishes her with the attention she craves and expensive gifts. She is smitten and living the dream, but what happens next will become her worst nightmare. How was she groomed so easily and didn’t see it coming?
Hidden Gem depicts what could be a common intersection of any of us with a victim of human trafficking and demonstrates that awareness of something being wrong and lead to action which can save a life. We too often devalue awareness as not DOING enough, but awareness empowers us and encourages action. If you SEE SOMETHING – SAY SOMETHING!
We hope our film is a powerful statement that at various places in our lives, we may intersect with someone that needs our help, and if we are willing to make a phone call, take some small action, we can have a huge impact on that person's life, and beyond. We’ve been told my many that “Hidden Gem is a priceless message in an age of live and let die. It is a stimulus with incalculable resonance, for health care workers, law enforcement, gas station attendants, parents and passers-by that our awareness and care can lead to life-changing good.”
The power to be educated can transform how we think about this great injustice and move us all to act against this horrific crime against humanity and give a voice to the victims and survivors, ultimately creating a world free from sexual exploitation. Our Story
Red Sky Studios and Fowler Davis Entertainment have collaborated together to share their love of storytelling and revealing truth. We recently produced the short film, Hidden Gem, that provides a small glimpse into the world of human trafficking. Our desire is to promote public awareness and education to know the signs of trafficking and help promote a change of culture in this epidemic that can affect us all.
We want this film to alert parents of the potential dangers their children and our society face each day. We hope to encourage churches and businesses to partner with organizations who provide help and whose goal is to mentor victims of human trafficking on how to live a normal life, and one where they find their hope and future in Jesus Christ.
The power to be educated can transform how we think about this great injustice and move us all to take action against this horrific crime against humanity and give a voice to the victims and survivors, ultimately causing eradication. The signs are all around us, but we need to know what to look for and be aware of.
We challenge followers of Jesus to look at an ugly issue through our Heavenly Father’s eyes so they never see someone in slavery or prostitution the same way again, but rather look through the yes of love and forgiveness. No matter how far we may go or distant we may feel to God, He still loves each one of us and seeks to draw us back to Him. God will never give up on any of us. We are all precious in His sight and truly are Hidden Gems!
