Oklahoma FFA students have been recognized by the National FFA Organization as American Star Award Finalists in every category due to their exceptional work in and outside of the classroom.
Oklahoma is the only state to have finalists in each category of the 2024 top achievement awards: American Star Farmer, American Star in Agribusiness, American Star in Agricultural Placement, and American Star in Agriscience.
According to the National FFA Organization, "The American Star Awards represent the best of the best among thousands of American FFA Degree recipients, the organization’s highest level of student accomplishment. The award recognizes FFA members who have developed outstanding agricultural skills and competencies by completing a supervised agricultural experience (SAE). An SAE is a required activity for all FFA members and allows members to learn by doing. Members can own and operate an agricultural business, intern at an agricultural business, or conduct an agriculture-based scientific experiment and report the results."
