Well, it’s been months and I have been searching for the purpose to be here.

Not gonna lie, it ain’t easy. When one day I just woke up and had a thought of “I have nothing else to teach…” whereas we USED to do content during the pandemic days and keep sharing the knowledge with people around.

Things have been moving so quickly and AI has taken almost 80% of the work now—it’s either you adapt or you’re going to lose out. Like me, I wasn’t going to be another “content creating agency”, competing in the red ocean with all bigger budget agencies or those marketing agencies that have 5-10 people working. I know for sure I can’t win over them in terms of producing video content or slashing price.

So, I do what I do best — designing.

And tbh, THAT’S what I love, in everything. Of course, I can shoot video, I can edit video, but that is not my passion (I can do it for fun but not to monetise).

And knowing I took charge of my own business after month battling with depression and anxiety working with certain brands—is truly a big breakthrough to me. Of course, it’s still not perfect, yet. But one day for sure, I’ll be able to work on my terms. 🤗

Our Ins and Outs of 2025! 🎉
These are some of the Ins and Outs that I have been thinking about for the past few days before penning them down.

But I gotta say the biggest takeaway from last year (which I learned), is to NEVER FEEL GUILTY of taking day offs. And of course, protect my boundaries and inner peace.

And I find that I used to seek "validation" from online 2-3 years ago by *oversharing* what I'm up to or something along the line. As I looked back and thought for a second, I don't think that's what I wanted at all. Seeking validation is probably the last thing I ever need in my life. I know it's part of "marketing" technique to be authentic yadayada, but do you know? Less sharing about what happening around your day is a flex these days?

People are getting tired with so many overshared news and the negativity that spread like wildfire in social media. And the way to connect with people genuinely now js to —surprisingly— not oversharing. Move on, and move about your life without the need to tell people what's happening. 😉

🎉 First chapter of the year officially starts today! Welcome to 2025, friends! 🎉
What taught us as a SMM since 2020: things changed every year. From the trend, to content creation technique to algorithm. And each business has different objectives to achieve in social media as well as going with different marketing approach.

So the first step for you to know is to nail down WHICH platform you get the most results from, ie: active followers, sales & whatnot.

And the rest would be easier for you to tackle one by one.

Remember, there's no overnight result. 👍🏻

🎄🎁 All I want for Christmas is—
Well, here's HOW you can make a social media manager (*cough* like moi here) or your contract service provider HAPPY this Christmas 😃

We SMMs are pretty simple creature. We love getting paid *on time*, we don't want people to haggle price with us, and yes we're not some social recluse who remote working without family time. We are just like anyone. We have holidays and family to spend our time with 😚

So what can you do to put the biggest smile on your SMM? Leave them the most bombastic appreciation ever so they'd know you are appreciating their works and respect their time ✨

This year 2024 there are so much of lessons to learn, and I got to be honest it can unnerving sometime as well.

But as a saying goes, lessons are for the learning and for the betterment of one self. So here am I, filtering, cleanse in and out what to keep and what to let go for our business. 💪🏻

Here are 6 things I'm going to let go in this year end.
🚫 The need to appease *everyone*
🚫 Not going to lowball ourselves to receive work that's not on par with the prices offered
🚫 Not every project or client can be your good pal
🚫 Being insecure about *not productive* enough
🚫 Overcompensating for something we never do/trivial matter
🚫 Trying to be just like any other agency

Word of wisdom of the day: Don't be afraid of changes.

I'd say 2020 IG is the *peak* year for most businesses to take the leap of faith to transition their offline and brick-and-mortar business to fully online during the pandemic.

Not only that, we've seen spike of virtual brands started solely from IG itself and took flight. However when things slowly back to normal after the pandemic, there was a major shift in the social media.

In other words, what works in 2020 *may not* works anymore in 2021. What works in 2023 may not works anymore in 2024.

What would you do to adapt to that changes? Are you going to allow those shifts swept you along the currents?

Social media constantly changes.

What would make your business stands out from the rest other than jumping into trends (that's just the small chunk of "success formula". It's actually more than meets the eye) is to update your social media "banks of knowledge" often.
Don't be afraid of changes. You gotta be afraid when your business hits a plateau (or stagnant).
