Backward Compatible Games and new media with a splash of academia.

Backward Compatible was formed out of a group of university setting academics and games scholars who wanted a semi-casual outlet for their various writings and discussions. You know, those talks you have with your friends at parties and whatnot where you think to yourself, “Man, I wish I had recorded that.”
That line of thinking is what convinced Jim, Richard, and Chris to create Backward Compatib

le, and what inspired the site’s relatively modern take on journalistic media. Here at Backward Compatible, readers are encouraged to comment and offer real insights, and certain comments will even be integrated into the articles. Our motto at BC is that dialogue brings out the best in everybody’s ideas, so we try to include that in all of our writings.
