Most people’s instincts will jump to the feeling a Burden has been placed on them. They will have to request time off work to abide by the summons, sit for hours while lawyers ask questions and then if you are picked to serve on a jury, a new set of requirements of your time arises. But what if jury duty is a completely different scenario? Jury duty is a person’s chance to possibly save the accused life. So why is jury duty such a dreaded task in America’s society?

Today became the second anniversary of the Lawton Oklahoma man, Quadry Sanders, who was gunned down by current Lawton Oklahoma Police officers, Nathan Ronan, and Robert Hinkle.

Sanders life was taken in Lawton Oklahoma two years ago in a local neighborhood near N.W. 18th St. and N.W. Lincoln Ave. Within Comanche County limits. Police were reported being present at home in Lawton after officers were allegedly responding to reports of a protective order violation.

Since Qudray Sanders life was taken both officers have been reinstated with back pay despite the commmunities resistance to having the officers who killed sanders on the Lawton Police force.

Mina woods, mother of Sanders spoke during a press conference back in June of this year describing her disappointment in thof the city reinstating police officers Robert Hinkle and Nathan Ronan, who have been charged with first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Quadry Sanders.

Mina went on to speak about the timely manner in which her son’s case is appearing in Oklahoma courts. “God is working, in this case, to ensure no other family has to feel the pain we feel after losing Quadry.”

Mrs. Woods plans on establishing community enrichment programs in Comanche county to combat some of the problems that stem from Comanche counties below poverty population, such as lack of education and housing security.

With the deadline to file a wrongful death suit approaching for the Zontorious Johnsons family, another Lawton man murdered by officer Roman the previous year, Mina reflected on the type of change that could come with convictions for the two officers who murdered Quadry Sanders and Officer Roman who took the life of Zontorious Johnson as well and the life of Sanders.

“We should not fear walking to the store or school or anywhere we go as poor people or minorities or whatever it is not about race it is about the police in Lawton, we are looked at like predators which allows for this type of violence to continue” Mrs. woods stated during the balloon ceremony.

Understanding the Links to Life

More and more stories are being written on attention deficits in adulthood. It has become a trending topic in the medical world. The diagnoses of adult attention deficit disorder going up over the years because of new resources to recognize the disorder. Now we have better medical care for proper diagnoses of the disorder. By the time humans reach adulthood ADD usually is not what a doctor is looking for. ADD usually shows itself early in childhood but 20, 30yrs ago ADD was not recognized properly. This made misdiagnosis easy for adults showing signs of ADD or not being diagnosed with anything at all. This makes it hard to study adult ADD, until now. Now there are a few studies and I found a research study done in 2011 on the correlation between infant malnutrition and persisting attention deficits In middle adulthood written by, Janina R. Galler, Cyralene P. Bryce, Miriam L. Zichlin, Garrett Fitzmaurice, G. David Eaglesfield, and Deborah P. Waber.
The authors of this study set out to find participants born in Barbados. The majority of their population is of African origin and socioeconomically lower with very low literacy rates (Galler, Bryce, Zichlin, Fitzmaurice, Eaglesfield, Waber). Malnutrition was common there at the time of the study. The participants included every child born between the years of 1967 and 1972 who were Born in Barbados. All had been admitted to a hospital called, Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They also had to have a single episode of grade 2-3 protein energy malnutrition. These babies were admitted and stayed at the hospital for the first 6mos of their lives. They also were enrolled in the study through the invention program at the Barbados nutrition center. These kids were followed to the age of 12 by the researchers. The program provided services such as nutrition education and visits. The healthy group of kids the researchers followed compared to the other group were between the ages of 5 and 11yrs old. They had no history of malnutrition or childhood disease. Birth and childhood records were reviewed for both groups.
(Galler et al.,2011) The authors felt this was an important study to conduct because malnutrition affects physical health and long-term cognitive behavior development in kids. Prenatal malnutrition has already been associated with behavioral morbidity, so they wanted to see if malnutrition with middle adulthood attention deficits. Survivors of the Dutch and Chinese famine who had malnutrition affecting their development showed an increased prevalence of schizophrenia in adulthood. Published and peer-reviewed data on adult outcomes after postnatal malnutrition are scarce. That’s why these researchers set out to collect data on this subject.
One of the primary outcomes of this study was finding out that males had a higher score on the CAARS hyperactivity scale than the unhealthy group. The groups also had differences in the CPT. The study confirmed the significant effect of malnutrition on CPT performance. This means that attention behavioral problems were elevated in adults who had a history of malnutrition with more kids who did not. The data is consistent with previous reports on this subject. Childhood attention problems have implications for adult development. This study does have several limitations. The adult sample only included under half of the original participants. Society should care about these findings to implement prevention plans for malnutrition.

A 71-year-old man was s**t to death by a Arkansas sheriff’s deputy. The officer alledges he found the 71 year old driving a tractor and displaying a handgun. The Benton Arkansas County DA will investigate if the man killed had his life taken lawfully or not.
