The President has appointed Justice Ranjan Gogoi as the 46th Chief Justice of India.
Justice Gogoi will assume office from October 3. He is the first Chief Justice of India from Assam.
Justice Gogoi would have a tenure as Chief Justice of India of about 13 months till his retirement on November 17, 2019.
Justice Gogoi is the son of Keshab Chandra Gogoi, a former Assam chief minister during the Indian National Congress regime 1982.

Recently fourth edition of Bay of Bengal Initiatives for Multi-Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) held in Kathmandu Nepal during 30-31 Aug 2018. Here are some facts abount BIMSTEC:
1.The BIMSTEC is a regional organization comprising seven Member States lying in the littoral and adjacent areas of the Bay of Bengal constituting a contiguous regional unity.
2.This sub-regional organization came into being on 6 June 1997 through the Bangkok Declaration.
3. It constitutes seven Member States: five deriving from South Asia, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and two from Southeast Asia, including Myanmar and Thailand.
4.Its headquarter is located at Dhaka,Bangladesh
5.Unlike many other regional groupings, BIMSTEC is a sector-driven cooperative organization. Starting with six sectors—including trade, technology, energy, transport, tourism and fisheries—for sectoral cooperation in the late 1997, it expanded to embrace nine more sectors—including agriculture, public health, poverty alleviation, counter-terrorism, environment, culture, people to people contact and climate change—in 2008.

1.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the second president of independent India (1962-67) and the first Vice-President of the country.
2.At his tenure during President of India (1962-67), his students and friends wanted to him to celebrate his birthday. But he requested that, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers’ Day.
3.Dr Radhakrishnan had served as an ambassador to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) from 1949 to 1952.

It will be launched by 2022, and if it is successful then India will become 4th country after USA, Russia and China to send Human to Space.
ISRO will set up training facility in Bengaluru, but may be it will take time, Indian Astronauts will take training in Foreign Nations.
ISRO will deploy its biggest Launch Vehicle GSLV Mark III from ShriHari Kota to send Gaganyaan Capsule in the orbit.
It will orbit around the earth at an altitude of 400km for seven days with 3 Crew Members.

Held in Jakarta and Palemben(Indonesia).
Mascots of 18th Asian Games were: Bhin Bhin,Atung and Kaka reflecting Indonesia's Diversity in Three Animal.
China got top spot in Medal Tally with 289 medal including 132 Gold medals.
India secured 69 Medals including 15 gold, 24 Silver and 30 Bronze medal.
This 18th Asian Games , India achieved its best Medal Tally in terms of Total medals and Gold Medals.
Next Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou ,China in 2022.
