Attend the Second Annual Pelican Commemoration on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 at 6 PM at the MONTAUK POINT LIGHTHOUSE.

Seventy-one years ago, on September 1, 1951, the fishing vessel Pelican sank off Montauk Point, killing 45 of the 64 people on board. It was an almost unimaginable tragedy, and it changed our fishing culture forever. Please join us on Saturday, September 3rd at 6 pm at the Lighthouse for our second annual Pelican Commemoration. There will be a brief memorial ceremony led by Rabbi Debra Stein and Rev. Bill Hoffman, along with a short documentary film, featuring a vocal performance by Montauk’s own Faith Mullaly.
