Giving this client a little special shoutout today.

How does one return to shooting newborn and maternity sessions after losing their own baby at 38 weeks? This task daunted me. Do I cancel or do I persevere ? I contacted my clients with the situation. Newborn sessions would not be easy but I had an obligation to them. I had some clients decide to cancel/reschedule (and I respect them so much for taking my mental health in to account).

Gabbie and John were one of the only ones who gave me the decision to cancel or proceed. I proceeded very much willing, as a challenge to myself. I have no intention of changing my speciality from newborn and maternity sessions, it’s my love of photography. I will have hard days, I will probably have a session or many I leave crying, and that’s okay. I truly respected Gabbie & John for allowing me to capture their newborn session, it was so good for me mentally. Thank you.

Time might not heal my wound, but these sessions will truly remind me how much of a miracle childbirth is. I look forward to continuing to capture these moments for each and every one of you.

As of Monday I am officially on maternity leave!! 🌸🤍

I’m not accepting any new sessions until mid/late July, and my availability is very limited for July & August.

I would say I’m gonna miss being behind the camera but having a new baby will give me plenty to still photograph 📷🫶
