--First off, we'd like to thank everyone who pledged in our Kickstarter campaign, we truly appreciate your support. Also, to everyone who gave us feedback or left us comments, thank you for taking the time.

--We are not going to make our goal this go around, but we are not giving up! This was our very first project and we have learned quite a bit we can use to make our next attempt bigger and better.

--We will definitely be looking more closely at shipping options, domestic and international and will have that sorted out before relaunching. We are also going to pursue work on trimming down the size of Bedlam a bit to make those shipping costs even less.

When making Bedlam we wanted a game that was easy to learn for first-time players, but also offer a challenge for the hardcore gamers. There is no “board” for our game so the size is limited only to your imagination (and table). Versatile game tiles that allow you to collect resources and fend off enemies. coupled with a fantastic mix of Move, Action, and Instant cards ensure that every game of Bedlam will be different from the last.

Board Game Value

When I was young, games like Risk and Yahtzee were a fun pass time for my immediate family but never a tool to make new friends. My mother was definitely an introvert and a bit agoraphobic so she never brought humans from the outside world into our abode. It wasn’t till I was much older that I realized the awesome friend-making power of the board game!

My Grandma and Grandpa often told me stories of their best friends that lived just down the street from them in Cupertino, CA. They had invited them over for dinner and cards one night and formed a relationship that lasted thirty years. Multiple nights each week they would get together for whiskey, dinner, and cards. I remember telling my Grandma that I would have friends like that when I grew up.

Many years later I do have friends just like that. I have been blessed!

Sharing a meal with a stranger could make you a friend but battling a stranger over the board game Scythe, you have made a friend for life. When we set aside our technology for a round of Catan it is not only healthy but it forms strong social bonds. I am sure it has a little to do with food, drinks, and all that eye contact also...

So, thank you Grandma and Grandpa for teaching me the importance of games. For games were and still are a big part of the lifelong friendship that I enjoy and will continue to grow till I die.

P.S. Board games, unlike most sports, are something you can enjoy even when you and your friends are old, diaper-wearing, residents of the same rest home. Love you guys! ShaCaPa forever…
