An innovator wants to create enormous impact on the world. Their past success has been built on a philosophy of 'move fast and breaks things' or 'preserve the party at all costs'. Then they get access to a new tool with vast, unintended consequences latent within it. What happens next?
The introduction of AI into the human story over the past year has left us in a 'cliffhanger' moment - waiting with bated breath to see how the next episode changes our relationship with each other, our environment, our technologies and ourselves.
The Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence Centre was opened at UTS this week with a mission to place ethics, values and humanity at the heart of the both the process and outcomes of the AI revolution.
We were brought on by Heath Campanaro of Neon Dynamo to capture it.

Frank Soto has dedicated his life to pursuing his insatiable curiosity and building a remarkable design engineering company.
As the firm's 25th anniversary approached he wanted to mark the occasion in a way that captured the essence of the Soto Consulting Engineers brand, deepened his relationship with clients, and enriched the culture for existing and potential talent.
This was not the time for cliched corporate communications.
Frank engaged Who & Why Media and we led him through our bespoke storyfinding process. Deep, immersive interviews were distilled into a compelling narrative, and visual motifs were developed to weave 40 years of history into a singular experience.
We engaged a wonderfully talented team including Cinematographer Glenn Hanns, Production Designer Irma Calabrese, and a stable of brilliant actors to bring three distinct eras to life.
Frank trusted our vision with the budget to create something special. We believe the resulting film not only delivers on the brief, but is one of our finest productions amongst more than 1000 films we have created over our own 12 year history.
Special thanks to Ed Birchall from Vivo Digital for connecting us to the opportunity and for his invaluable creative and strategic input across the project.
Talk about culture shock. Transforming academics into entrepreneurs is a radical undertaking, but UNSW is committed to 'spinning out' more of their world class IP through their own people.
This short case study film with Igor from Infinity Avionics was so much fun to shoot. Out of space via Canberra.
I wrote, directed, produced, shot and edited it (and managed to avoid having my drone shot down).
How do you source your testimonials? The brilliant team at C7EVEN auditioned potential brand evangelists by running a competition that required a video entry. The authenticity in the resulting films speak for themselves.
Who & Why's Chief Storyteller, Simon Dikkenberg, was brought on to shoot and edit these salt-of-the-earth stories.
Using story to sell an $8 million yacht
Here's some recent work we created for Grand Banks - the iconic boating brand.
Thank you to Louis C Brandt (DOP) and the teams at Big Advantage and Aerial Marine for an awesome collaboration.
This project was such a pleasure. Compelling characters, exquisite setting, and a product with animal welfare at its core.
Sometimes our story-finding process demands a deep dive and sometimes our clients serve it up on a plate during the initial brief. Belinda Hall knew she had gold with one of the winners of Maxton Fox's student design competition. It was great fun working with her, Meg Dortmans, Danielle Dunsford, and Sasha Alexander from Western Sydney University, to capture the big reveal and a young woman's dreams becoming actualised.
