"February’s issue is all about drawing inward and inspecting our memories during the year’s last cold, dark days." Catherine Campbell previews CPR Volume 25-6.

by admin February 6, 2024 February’s issue is all about drawing inward and inspecting our memories during the year’s last cold, dark days. In Mark Defoe’s “Handle with Care, the Egg of Memory,” memory is a liferaft: “What quivers on the brink of being / may yet save you—someone’s lau...

We are delighted to announce the winner of the 2023 Cider Press Review Book Award.

Jo Brachman of Pine Lake, Georgia, won the 2023 Cider Press Review Book Award for Prayers to a Small Stone. She received $1,500, publication of her book by Cider Press Review, and 25 author copies. Requiem in Wide-Open Minor, by Justin Hunt was the Runner-up. Judge Jayne Marek remarks, “I found my heart moving back and forth among several manuscripts, over time, which is a delightful challenge (e.g., it reminded me that any result will be good). I like Prayers to a Small Stone best of all, for its combination of polished, well-shaped pieces and its imaginative range. The runner-up is Requiem in Wide-Open Minor for its sensitive and interesting handling of history and emotions.”

Our December issue is live. Here's a preview by Managing Editor Catherine Campbell.

by admin December 14, 2023 Fitting with the dark of the season, the poems found in our most recent issue orbit a sense of seclusion. In Laura Tanenbaum’s “New Years 2023,” this feeling is found in “quiet desert rooms…witnessed only by a scrub jay and a doll / half-stuffed in a box.” Andr...
