How is your brand story being told? Are you elevating the humanness of your brand?
Growing up, my grandmother always taught me to collect at least one thing: "It adds interest, Caroline." So I began collecting and reading books. I fell in love with the art of storytelling. I could picture myself in the pages of the book: hiding in the attic with Anne Franke, standing in the jungles of Ecuador with Elisabeth Elliot or solving the latest mystery with Nancy Drew.
As humans, we are wired to love stories. They help us know, grow, lead and love. Stories make us feel like we know the characters and the authors behind the words. Likewise, your company's story can help you connect to your target audience, stand apart from the oversaturated market and create a lasting impact.
Consumers will gravitate towards brands that feel more human...so how do we achieve that? Storytelling. A memorable story is what people need to feel connected to your brand and mission. And while you're writing your story, don't forget the overarching question: what makes you human?
In a crowded marketplace, it is important to not lose the human element in your marketing and storytelling. Be different, be human! These are the brands that stand out and leave a lasting legacy.
