This morning I received a distressed call from an old friend of mine who currently work as an Aide to a Business Mogul in Warri, Delta State. He demanded that I help write to authority to act swiftly in addressing the threats posed by the FULANI HERDSMEN especially within Ethiope East and Abraka area. Upon further inquiries about his worries, he revealed through the phone that these monsters have ended up killing not fewer than seven people in the last seven days, I hanged the call, went into my room and quickly strutted. Anyone who has ever watched a child's eye wander into sleep knows what my mood was as at the time the whole drama was unfolding in my head. My wife could could sense danger at the sight of my red eye👁️. My heart was boiling. This evening I picked up my pen to write this piece.

Before I go straight to the issues at hand, it is also very important that we review the immediate cause of these menace(s) rounding our various communities, kingdoms and villages. Our people are now afraid of their own land.
Their freedom is now restricted and detected by strangers parading themselves as agents of Marauders like the snipers of the great Taliban. I wept😭 after I keenly listened to the ugly story of our elderly men and women whose only sources of livelihoods has been taken away by the actions of these bastards. It is time to rise and address this menace.

You see, the leaders and Traditioner Rulers of our various communities has continuously shown no concern in the cries and lament of our people. We must rise to deal with our fear or remain slaves to strangers.

Our people invites enemies to themselves in the name of hospitality and end up fighting what they invited into their lives. We kinda fail to understand that the people that refuse to accept your religion, culture and hates everything about you will never be y

Two Drug Kingpins Bag Life Jail For Co***ne Trafficking

Two drug kingpins, Uwaezuoke Christian and Agbo Prince, have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Abuja for "their years of criminal enterprise of exporting co***ne across continents."

The Director of Media and Advocacy, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Femi Babafemi, announced this in a statement on Sunday.

He stated that Uwaezuoke was initially arrested in 2022 for ingesting co***ne wraps and was later caught again trying to smuggle drugs to India. Meanwhile, Agbo was arrested at the Abuja airport for attempting to export co***ne to Hong Kong.

How I tried to stop Onakoya from playing chess – World record breaker’s father

The father of Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, Pa Onakoya, has said that he was never in support of his son playing chess, stating that he never knew that Chess would make him popular.

According to him, when Tunde was a child, whenever he saw him playing chess, he would pack everything away because he wanted him to focus on his academics.

On April 17, Onakoya commenced his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon.

On April 20, he broke the record for the longest-ever chess marathon with a time of 60 hours at Times Square in New York, United States.

EFCC withdraws case against Yahaya Bello

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked the Court of Appeal in Abuja to withdraw the appeal it filed to set aside the interim injunction which barred it from arresting the former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.

In its notice of discontinuance dated April 22, the EFCC said its decision to terminate further proceedings on the appeal, was based on the fact that the initial order a Kogi State High Court made in favour of Bello has been overtaken by events.

Besides, the EFCC admitted that the appeal it brought against Bello was filed outside the time allowed by the law.

A copy of the notice read: “The Appellant herein intends to and do hereby wholly withdraw her appeal against the respondent in the above mentioned appeal.

“This notice of withdrawal is predicated on the fact that; on the 17th April 2024, the application filed by the appellant herein was overtaken by the decision of the same high court of Kogi state in the case of Alhaji Yahaya Bello Vs EFCC- Suit No: HCL/68m/2024, per A. I. Jamil.

“The orders made ex parte by Jamil on the 9th of February 2024 in said suit which is the subject of this appeal, was made to last pending the hearing and determination of the originating motion on notice which was finally determined by Jamil J. on the 17th April 2024.

“Furthermore, the notice of appeal was filed out of time and we, therefore, pray that the appeal be struck out for being filed out of time and incompetent.”

Recall that Bello had, in a bid to stop his arrest, approached the Kogi State High Court to enforce his fundamental rights.

The court, in a ruling it delivered on February 9, issued an interim order that restrained the EFCC from inviting, arresting or prosecuting the Applicant over the subject matter of the charge against him, pending the determination of the suit.

Though the EFCC filed an appeal to set aside the interim order, the court, on April 17, delivered its judgement on Bello’s

Rachael Aladi Ayegba (born 25 June 1986) is a former Nigerian women's international footballer who played as a goalkeeper. At club level, she played for multiple Finnish clubs between 2005 and 2016. Ayegba is now a bus driver in London.

A former Super Falcons goalkeeper Rachael Aladi Ayegba has found a new life outside football after years of playing the game at the highest level before going on to obtain a coaching license.
Ayegba, who played for the Falcons at the 2007 Women’s World Cup in China, the 2006 and 2008 African Women’s Championships and had an 11-year stint as a professional player in Finland, has now turned to bus driving in the United Kingdom.
According to the UK’s Evening Standard Newspaper, bus drivers’ pay starts at £26,000 (over N14m) and rises to more than £31,000.
This perhaps explains why Ayegba who has a UEFA A Goalkeepers License, is happy with her newfound love on the wheels.

"It's Not My Time Yet" - Zack Orji Finally Shares Miraculous Story Against Death

Speaking about his near death experience and recovery in an interview on Channels TV, he said;

" I underwent two brain surgeries in Nigeria after I slumped in the bathroom. I can only say that it's by the grace of God that I am alive today because I passed out. I was out for about five and a half hours before help came. Incidentally, my friend Bala Ahmed was in the UK at the time, and the people in the house called him to say "we've been knocking on his door since morning and we've not been able to receive any response." So he called another collegaue, Benedict Johnson, who rushed to the house and I was there on the floor incoherent. I couldn't even stand because when he raised me, I slumped again and he had to call another colleague. The two of them lifted me on their shoulders from the second floor to the ground floor and took me to the national hospital. My wife flew in from Lagos, because all this happened in Abuja, on the 29th of Decemeber and met me in the hospital.

On the 1st of January, the first surgery was carried out on me. You can still see the mark. I kept going for different types of scans. I went for another scan and they discovered that there was still some residue clot in my brain so they had to do a second surgery. They were able to scoop out all the blood clot and I spent some time recovering and it was recommended that I come to the UK for post surgery assessment.

In all of it, I'm grateful to God Almighty and I'm also grateful to so many people who stepped in. The president of Nigeria, the first lady, the wife to the vice president, the president's son, and a whole lot of many people. I'm alive today by God's exceeding great and mercy through the people he used to be of assistance to me. Here I am, strong and healthy, and of a sound mind too. Thank God that it's not my time yet. It's not my time."
