Creation Myth
Ambition Sound- embracing an intrepid drive to document sound made manifest. Created in 2017, the initial spark for ambition in sound began with studio sessions for Monotrope’s Unifying Receiver LP (on New Atlantis Records + Sleeping Giant Glossolalia). Early 2018 saw marked the genesis of the record label, while the studio expanded to 24 tracks of hi-fidelity audio.
Ambition Sound is an independent record label with a focus on spirited, creative, challenging music. Our focus is realizing our artists’ vision, while staunchly rejecting commercial pandering and contrived aesthetics. Ambition Sound is also a project recording studio in Southwest Ohio, with a growing collection of microphones, outboard preamps, guitar+bass amplifiers small and large, unique electric guitars, and vintage drums.
These recordings have the capacity, long after we have left the Earth, to raise a mirror to the culture at large, whether DIY, underground, or mainstream; local or global; personal or communal. Our mission is to resonate as loudly as possible, for whatever audience might be listening.
