It was one of the liveliest villages we ever visited and we hope to go back there again because these photos don't give it justice.

Super happy about the whole experience and thankful that my job allows me to meet great people and see more of the world. 🌍

Yesterday I decided that it was finally time I start making BTS videos of my creative projects and upload them on YouTube. 🎥

So, I came up with a wee series name 'visual BTS' and will aim to post an episode each month. I want to make them good so I need time.

My goal with these videos is to share whatever knowledge I may have 🤣 and challenge myself creativity when it comes to putting these videos together. 🎬

Created this video for Brixton BMX Club with Anthony last year with the intention of helping and raising awareness of this awesome BMX club.

While filming the project I met some amazing, passionate people. Even met the BMX legend himself, Charlie Reynolds. Must say BMX racing is way harder than it looks!

The club is now raising funds to rebuild the facility in Brockwell Park and make it ready for the next generation of young riders. Any help would be much appreciated!

We hiked up the Polezhan Peak (2851m) recently - our highest peak yet in Bulgaria.

The whole weekend trip was a hell of an adventure! From meeting a curious fox up close to being caught in a thunderstorm to having major problems finding our second hut (that was a crazy experience itself!) to a cat licking my beard while I was trying to fall asleep! The list goes on... XD

It has been a while since I last posted! August was a busy month with countless projects. This wedding video for Samantha and Jonathan was one of them.
-
I rarely film weddings - too much stress to capture each special moment XD - but on this occasion I was able to fill the missing pieces during the 2nd day of shooting and make the story work. Plus, Samantha and Jonathan were super easy to work with so that made all the difference.
-
Also thank you to Reece for capturing the most important shot - Jonathan's reaction - it would be a real challenge to make the video work without that. 👌

There is this one very interesting location in Bulgaria that will take your imagination back many years ago. 😳

This place is located in a village called Kocherinovo. All the items on this site are owned by Billy the Hoarder and you can guess by his nick name what he does best. 😆

One day he would like to make this place into a museum that's free for everybody. 🔥

This is where the Kom-Emine journey ends, the Black Sea. 🌊

Throughout the 20 days of hiking you are trying to get closer and closer to your goal destination and finally complete this tough achievement and when you finally reach it and you are standing there on the beach with your eyes closed, listening to the waves crash and feeling the water touch your feet, you begin to realise that it is all over yet you can't fully grasp what you just achieved.

When I reached the Black Sea I didn't feel any different, it just made me want to hike more.

What animals did we see during our 600km hike? 😳
-
I wish I took a photo of all of them but I didn't always have my camera out just in time. 🤦 Alright, let's get into it. Here are the animals I remember seeing:
-
• Millions of different biting Insects
• Thousands of Horses and Cows
• Hundreds of Fish
• Hundreds of Beatles
• Tens of Dogs and Cats
• Tens of Sheep, Goats, Geese and Chickens
• Tens of Vultures
• Few Donkeys and Deer
• Few Moles, Rabbits, Frogs and Mice
• Two Snakes
• Two Hawks
• One Turtle
• One Black Scorpion
-
Apart from that we also came across:
-
• Hundreds of Wild Boar footprints
• One Wolf footprint
• About a thousand bear sh*ts along with some footprints. Also could smell the bear at least three times (very strong smell, makes you feel like you are in a zoo). But that's not all, we heared a bear on two occasions as well. One was from a distance and the other was like from less than 10m away (it was behind thick bushes and trees) - I can tell you that the growls were scary and from that moment you would never want to cross paths with a bear again.

Moving on to some landscapes! ⛰️

Hiking across the Balkan Mountains was an amazing experience. The highest peak, Botov that we hiked on our 10th day stands 2376m above sea level. At these heights the weather can change instantly. Especially during winter.
-
Along the way the guide, Toni was telling us all the crazy stories that happened on these mountains. From a group being caught in an intense blizzard where half of them decided to start digging and hiding in the snow and the other half continuing to hike and unfortunately dying, to a couple being caught in a fierce storm where they had to hide beside some rocks and withstand the storm for many hours and the guy making a promise to himself that if they survive he will go back there to build a shelter on the exact same spot. We stopped at that shelter for a short break so it was nice to see that he fulfilled his promise.
-
Luckily for us we mostly experienced thick fog or heavy rain. We tried avoiding storms as much as possible and whenever there was a huge storm we would have already ended the day at the next hut. Speaking of huts, there is a lot of them in Bulgaria. Some abandoned, some undeveloped but a lot of them still in great condition and they can be found in key areas in the mountains. It was definitely an experience staying in various huts at different locations. Also, some of them had a chess board so I couldn't help but challenge people.

That's it for now. Still got a lot of photos to edit and post but think I'm slowly going to start working on the video. That should be exciting!

Apart from seeing beautiful, vast landscapes on this hike, we also came across many different animals, villages and interesting people.
-
One thing I wish I done more of is capturing those people. There were countless times we came across a person that looked like an absolute character that most likely had some crazy stories to tell. You just had to look them in the eye and you instantly knew that they have been through a lot in life. Need to improve my Bulgarian so I can finally talk to these people! 😅
-
With that being said tho! On one of the last days, as we were passing through a village to have a 30min break, I noticed a few older guys playing chess beside a local store. They looked as if they have been playing chess there all their life. After about 10min I finally built up the courage to go and ask for a game. Through some broken Bulgarian and hand gestures I got my point across. 🤣 The store manager accepted and we ended up having a very close game - my move with the horse at the end mucked it up. I'm happy that I lost because that just gives me a good reason to go back there for a rematch.

Anyways, that's it for now. It's hard to choose photos for just a 10 slide post. I'll do a landscape post next so you can see some of those beautiful mountains! ⛰️

Hiked 600km across Bulgaria and ended at the sea. 🌊

Over the past 20 days and I and another 9 awesome people in our group completed a hike called KOMEMINE. Each day we woke up before 5am and hiked between 16 - 44km. Throughout the hikes we seen amazing landscapes in various weather conditions and had some unforgettable experiences. Even came close to an angry brown bear! I'm overwhelmed with everything that has happened and can't even put it into words.😅

I've captured a lot of footage so I plan on making a 15-20min narrative movie but that will take some time - I want it to be absolute top notch. 🎥👌🏻 I'll be posting photos soon, just need to edit them first and since I've not been behind the PC in a while I feel like an old dinosaur that can't edit.

Anyways, this was the hardest physical challenge I've ever done in my life and it definitely won't stop here. I can't wait to be on the mountains again! ⛰️

Apart from all the fun filming this, I gave the paddle boarding a shot and I didn't want to leave the water after that. 🤣 Although I fell about a hundred times - even had some memorable backward falls - I feel like I need to get a board myself and get out there. 😎
