I’ve been following the shenanigans of WOTC since the initial leak. OGL 1.0a has done nothing but help the game grow and thrive. Without it Dungeons and Dragons newest renaissance would not be what it is today. It is mainstream, it has mass appeal, it’s played by the most varying amount of players in its 49 year history. But what has been happening recently is a blemish on a game and community I have been wholly invested in for decades

D&D Beyond, Critical Role, Dimension 20, Pathfinder, numerous 3rd party supplements, merchandise creators, and content creators would not be here without the OGL 1.0a. But what has WOTC done?
- Shat on its community and it’s small 3rd party creators
- Attempt to turn D&D beyond into the ONLY VTT (virtual tabletop) and add in micro transactions ala Fortnite and League of Legends (WHY?!?)
- And put in a clause that boldly steals creators 3rd party creations and claim them as their own

I could go more in-depth with my feelings/concerns/theories but maybe I should do that in a live stream or video. All I’m going to say is this: if you want to show WOTC and Hasbro that we will not stand for their actions you can cancel you D&D Beyond subscription as that is what they are fully invested in and use the hashtags , , and

Just wanted to pop in after a long time with a little update:

- The family and I are alright. Unfortunately the move out of state didn’t happen but we are moving forward as best as possible

- I’ve started DMing a D&D campaign for the first time in 6 months. It’s been helping to keep me grounded

- Still aiming to finally pop some content onto YouTube as well as continue sharing pics on Instagram

Sorry for the radio silence. Last month I had to take an unexpected trip to say goodbye to my grandmother. I’ll get back on the horse soon. I’ve just been taking time to grieve, get back into the flow at my day job, and make sure my son is doing well at therapy. Stay safe, tell the ones that matter you love them, and take care #2021

So I know I said I’d be back in a week….that was August 24th. It’s now September 25th, I maaaay have taken a long break then I planned 😏

At least I did some game collecting from August 2021 to September 2021. Here’s the newest additions.

A few days late but here’s the next game up on the docket:

MARVEL AVENGERS

What can I say that hasn’t already been said. Let’s get the bad out of the way first, the gameplay is good but rather stilted. You seem to only fight robots and SOME human enemies. The Boss fights so far with iconic Marvel villains are exciting but a chore.

The story, while presented in a good way and has amazing voice acting from the likes of Troy Baker, Travis Willingham, and Laura Bailey. The game was revealed and presented as a tale of the Avengers losing a huge battle and having to reassemble to right the wrongs of that fateful day. They instead present a story that follows Kamala Khan (Ms.Marvel) as she tried to piece together a conspiracy that has put the superheroes in a bad light. I enjoy that story more then what was originally presented because it just felt like that were rehashing trite story beats from every Marvel/Superhero movie

The menus are annoying to navigate. It literally took me asking a friend of mine to help me figure out where the single player section was

Overall, Marvel Avengers tries to present the Earth’s Mightiest heroes and the bombastic battles but tends to fall flat. It’s not a BAD game, it’s also not a GOOD game. There’s potential there if Crystal Dynamics continues to fix the issues. As with Dark Alliance, I give it a 6 out of 10. Decent but flawed

Going to try and play some games nightly. No streams as I don’t have all the equipment for that. I’ll definitely make posts giving either my first impressions, general thoughts, or just adoration/dismay for whatever title I’m playing that night

Who knows, maybe that will be a theme for some videos in the future but we shall see. For now, let’s get to tonight’s game:

D&D DARK ALLIANCE

Being a fan of the whole saga of Drizzt Do’urden as well as the Icewind Dale setting, I have been a bit excited for this games release. First impressions…..it’s got the setting right, the story is interesting, the characters are voiced pretty damned well. BUT the graphics are mediocre at best. The hub camp has sections that animate at probably single to low double digit FPS while everything else moves at a steady 30 FPS. The combat is fun but clunky. Enemy targeting is a chore

If I had to score the game so far, I would have to say a 5-6 out of 10. Average at best with some rough edges that can and SHOULD be cleaned up with patching. We’ll see how I feel after I’ve spent some more time with the game

Hey all, I know it’s been awhile since the last post but I felt it was about time I gave a bit of an update:

Mental health wise, I’m doing a bit better then a few months ago. I just hit a wall and ended up overwhelming myself and my anxiety issues. I’m not at 100% but I’m definitely in a better head space to proceed with plans and some minor content

Outside of that l’m still working at my full time job, raising my son with my wife, and trying to enjoy the little things (as you can see I was able to get a PS5 at MSRP)
