New from Ulli Freer: Transition Pulse!

‘Ulli Freer’s Transition Pulse is a brochure for no product but the practice of interference. Curated and introduced by Lora Afric, images and poem blur box-like as you hold the card-like paper prised apart. Robert Sheppard, writing about Freer’s work in Jacket2, said that “pulses released from random noise form monuments for the future. Pulses as links in a chain, not of communication but of creation.” Beneath the sonically re-ordered chains of association which make the surface prismatic (“sound trumps order,” it says), Transition Pulse dips into the currents of emotion around desk jobs, love, Boris Johnson, migrant channel-crossings, the countryside, and Elon Musk, forming a ring of forget-me-not daisies around Freer’s relationship with Afric.'
