Filigree Magazine is a brand new Philadelphia based alternative culture magazine which will feature artists, designers, writers, businesses, musicians, and more from the underground. We will focus on independent high fashion, artists who push the edge, music that gets our blood pumping, and local businesses from coast to coast. Our premier issue will feature photographer Liz Besanson, an exclusiv
e interview with Trey Ehart from the band Entertainment, a fall/winter style watch, the first installment of a continuing work of fiction, an interview with Travis Kelley of Shear Terror, and much more. After the first issue, each new issue will be solde at a slight markup and the proceeds will be donated to arts charities. So, What makes us different from some of the other magazines out there? For starters, we don't feature models - well, not directly anyway. We know, we know... models love their features, but in the spirit of fashion magazines, we have decided to not run model features except for special occasions. Of course fashion calls for models, so we will always have lovely faces in our pages. We also focus on the alternative community as a whole, not fashion alone, relying on our readers to guide us through sample submission in creating the flow and direction the publication takes. We will not be simply a photobook, but a magazine worth reading. Here's some details to tide you over until we get a website up! DESIGNER SAMPLE SUBMISSIONS:
- Submission should not be full sets, but rather samples of your work. We don't like seeing people shoot an entire set only to be turned away, so we would like to preview your work first.
- Please send samples of high resolution images - if applicable - of your work along with a bio and contact information.
- If we like your work, we will contact you directly after reviewing your submission.

- Those who wish to submit written articles may do so by sending the complete article.
- We will review the article and contact you directly if interested in publishing it.
- We accept limited submissions of fiction as we already have a staff fiction writer.

- If you think we should write about someone, let us know!
- Send your nominations to [email protected] and let us know how to contact the person or business you're nominating. We'll take it from there if we're interested. BUT I'M A MODEL AND I WANT TO SUBMIT!
- Technically, you can. Find a desgner, photographer, artist, etc who would like to collaborate with you on a set and have them submit their work. If they're accepted, then you can work with them and there you go. Of course, we can't promise they'll work with you.
- If you're part of a feature, you'll be properly credited, but we do NOT run a models feature section. Yes, models will be on the cover and in the pages, but most likely only in relation to a featured designer, artist, etc with the exception of special editions.
- REMEMBER! Please do not send completed sets! They will not be considered. We hate the idea of turning away people after such hard work was put into a set, so we only run sets we have specifically planned ahead of time. AD SPACE:
We are not offering ad space for the first issue! Ad space will be available from the second issue on. Information about ad space will updated at that time. Oh yea... since we're tiny and little and offering the magazine at cost, we can't give away free copies to everyone who submits. While we'd love to, it's simply not in the budget. Maybe it never will be, but we'd like hope it will.
